SINGAPORE: A teacher of a school has been charged with having consensual sex with one of his students who is underaged.

The teacher cannot be named to protect the 15-year-old girl's identity.

The 25-year-old co-form teacher allegedly had sex with the girl in a Woodlands flat in May and June this year.

The Education Ministry has since suspended him.

The slim, bespectacled teacher turned up in court on Monday in a white long-sleeved shirt with dark coloured trousers. He looked calm as he stood in the dock.

The teacher is now out on a bail of S$10,000.

His pre-trial conference will be held on December 27.

If convicted of the offence, he can be jailed up to ten years, fined or both.

Is there a difference for consensual sex with underage girl? I thought as long as the girl underage, it should be statutary rape. No rotan for this case??

not really true, sometime students really seduce you with her eyes and test water. I fell in love with my students 6 years old. lost until now. she requested to be in my class. I happened to the best looking teacher around , very popular. I felt disappointed with most scholar's and well educated. Looks around ourselves - the way they behaved - most I felt had discipline issue.

In recent times - sexual offence case been reported among the educated one. I though - what had happened to them. These scholar and the educated one are so brainy in academic but goes haywire on social responsibility. And to make things worse...........they are teacher!!!!!.......are they going to teach our children to commit such cases in the name or excuses that love is BLIND??:mad:.
