A new kind of eating or a new kind of food which i like and tried in Batam and so far only seems to be able to be found in Zest Hotel,hehehe...not even in Singapore could be seen eaten that way.
Basically its just those very dryly-made-kind of porridge,and have some chicken soup being pour into it,add a bit of ikan bilis or something and then start eating. Simple food,simple way of eating. My kind of food.
I opted for the breakfast in that hotel just becos of it,hehehe...and its being serve in every breakfast between 6am to 10am. Almost everything in Batam is either fried,grilled or BBQ-ed, at least this one is something a little different.
I rarely miss a certain kind of food in Batam, but i am starting to miss that now.
* i might try this with Bak Kut Teh if there's a chance arise.
This porridge or the way that its being eaten reminds of some food i ate before in Guang Xi, China small village area (inside Yu Lin province). The villagers will eat either rice 1st,follow by watery porridge or vice versa (porridge 1st,then rice). According to the folks there, it helps for better digesting the food. After the meal, followed by a bowl of white wine (yes,its a bowl and not in a glass,hehehe...).
The only kind of white wine i have tried in China,hehehe....
