HP in Vietnam is not expensive; she lied. Plenty of HP shops. Most HP are smuggled from Cambodia. If you buy a HP in S'pore without subscription, it's very expensive. Here in Vietnam, you can buy it cheap without subscription.

Hmmmm lately my BX has been bringing used handphones back to HCM to sell to earn some extra moola.
The phone she wants to get here is S$548, but in HCM, she says it costs almost $7mil VND (about S$620+).
She can't bring that many back, or they'll be questioned and it'll be confiscated upon arrival. She told me one of her friends tried to bring back 20 handphones and had them all confiscated. Max you can carry is 3 - The excuse she gives is 1st phone has my S'pore line, 2nd phone has my VN line, 3rd phone is gift fro brother.
Normally she turns about a 15-20% profit on the used handphones... and about 5-10% on new boxed sets.
