Hi there,
If you are alone, may be you can try the 1912, there are many pubs that you can try your luck, it should be getting more crowded since I was there few months ago when it newly opened. As going to KTV alone is really waste of money.
By the way, Nanjing is holding the 10th China Games now, police patrol around the city very often, just be careful if you happen to bring someone back to hotel.
