I'd definitely recommend going Tijuana, Mexico if you are in San Diego. Its where all the action is on the West Coast excluding Las Vegas.

Its only about less than an hour by their metro train and its stops right at the border crossing. You literally can be inside one of their more famous strip clubs barely 10 mins after you step off the train as there is no immigration going in which is weird i know but you still need your passport on your way out.

For local San Diegans, its like JB for them... Cheap Everything there...
