Joo Jiat Short Time Hotel - Anymore?

Hi All,

I was wondering if those hotels located in Joo Chiat still offer transit stay? Have not tried transit at hotel located in JC since mid Dec 08 & understand that the government ban the transit stay at that area starting from Jan 09.

Really missed the H81 Tristar. Room damn spacious & very convenient Basement Car Park. Also another one further down JC which is opposite the Teochew Porridge.

Any bros here got update?

If the rule stays, then i think Tristar should be affected cos its still within Joo Chiat. Hope i'm wrong.

For the benefit of everybody like me who loves Tri-Star, they NO longer offers transit. I just called them and they have to abide the rules because they are in the Joo Chiat Area.

If you want transit in joo chiat area, there is still 1 hotel. Not sure if I should post the name cos this hotel was missed out in the list of hotels to be banned.

When you think of Peranakans (since Joo Chiat and Katong are Peranakan areas), which part of Malaysia do you think of?

My hint is as far as I can say. Please don't pm me for I'm worried this hotel will be banned too. Somehow, this hotel was 'missed' by the new rulings. Bro, my take on the parking problem is very simple. Judging by the number of rooms available, if you can't get a lot, it's likely the rooms are quite full. If the rooms are quite full, then no point getting a lot!

The authorities have the propensity to cut the toes to avoid worms. When they receive a complaint, instead of finding a equitable solution, they just ban this ban that and in the process break many ricebowls.

Pity those hotel operators and end-users.

bro, Hotel 81 Changi @ 428 Changi Road is not
in the list too. It is quite close but not too
close to Joo Chiat.
