Dear brothers out there, 2 of us want to play golf at batam. Do u all know is it cheap to play there? And of course we also want to cheong there? We intend to go 2 days 1 night there. Idea is we play day 1 once we reach there then cheong at night. Where to get gals for overnight? Next day another round of golf before we come back to sg. Thanks a lot

Its seems a setup bros goin hari raya soon with bbm goin up money gonna be tight for the locals alot of my local 's frens complaining even my cewk makin a big fuss.so bros be careful cheong n be merry but do respect the local customs especially startin tomorrow fastin starting tomorow 1 day of ramadan just a word of precaution to my fellow bros.

Agree. Looks like a set up to me. One reasons why I dont choose FLs. Other tricks they may have include having some ties to police where they set you up for drug raids.

Ramamdan coming. The locals want to find extra money for going home or for their new year.

Watch out for more pickpockets or beggings around.

Take note and then do what? I cross my fingers and I will try to be careful, besides respectful of people's beliefs and sensitivity as always. However, we all know: "shhit happens".
I wonder what did this bule do wrong, not prudent: he was simply drinking with a girl in a pub of kampung bule. Not in a hotel room. That behaviour does not look very brave or challenging to me.
Little to do, if one finds himself trapped in such a set-up. By the way, where was the photographer lurking?
Ndnd, what happened at the end? what was the conclusion of this trouble? I hope the man did not undergo some severe problems, after the big noise.

I was in Batam one year ago during Ramadan and I had a very nice holiday. Reports on ISG.
I will be back again this year. It's not a plan to aim at Ramadan: it just happens. For all who inquiry what to expect:
- all bars/entertainment closed first 3 days, middle 3 days, last 3 days of the Month;
- all massage places and KTV closed all day, open 9pm;
- some massage have OKT sitting in front, showing a photobook to choose from; not really the best way to "cheong"
- in 2012: Pacific Disco close at 3am, Newton close at 6am (just a bit earlier than usual)
- restaurants open also daytime for non-Muslim people and tourists, not only at Nagoya Hill mall, but also outside (but discretely covered by a tent).
