Wah!The rate...really shock me to see the 7000/SGD!!

I just went to check the live rate online,it's at 9,397.1436/SGD leh....meaning i won't settle anything less than 9250/SGD...lol,be it Harbour Bay or Harbour Front,hehehe....

I really do not understand all this hassle for extra toothbrush.

First thing I do after checking-in in Formosa is to ask house keeping to bring me extra items. A small tip (20k) to those wonderful guys and my room is kept constantly equipped, at any time throughout my whole stay (being it 4-5-6-7 days), with no less than 5-6 tootbrushes, 4 bath towels, at least 5-10 bath foam and soaps.

I don't waste them! I just want to have full supply 24/24. I receive guests to my room pretty often during my Batam holidays, and girls can come alone or in couple. I don't want to call house keeping at 4am because we lack toothbrush.

I stumbled upon a cheap place for seafood. Its beside nagoya city walk, and if I recalled correctly, it is even cheaper than those street side seafood outside nagoya hills.

Bro nono newbie guide definitely make it easier to chiong batam without fearing the language barrier

Most important step is to take a leap of faith and explore what u have read here.

Practice the usual precaution as u will when overseas regards to ur belongings and walking into unknown territories.

Formosa is a good starting point and from there, the joints as stated in the guide are within walking distance.
If all else fail, stick to in house king massage for hj/bj.

That's the best I can offer in terms of advices.

Goodway is good. Old but cosy. Room was quite big and wifi signal very strong in the room i have. I can stream movies online lol. Best thing abt Goodway: RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO Sedona!

Just that got a few s'pore family ard our dinning area so...... kena some judgmental stares.

Hahahaha yeah i slept alone on the second night. Was actually planning to try pickup at Noname or clubs. But in the end lazy just lie in bed watch movie lo. Also i think will be quite boring if i go drink alone since i can't speak Bahasa. Or got any bro can give advice for this?

Hi Bro BP! It's not really a hassle. It's just a side-episode that i found to be funny in my trip to Batam, and the rest of the bros were kind enough to suggest solutions.

And Bro BP i must say your FR in the other forums on the pub/club scene was most helpful to this newbie. Although i didn't managed to hit any pub/club in the previous trip, i was certainly intrigued by your FRs. Hopefully one day i will be able to speak enough Bahasa to enjoy myself in pubs/clubs.

By the way, do you know if Noname is still in operation? Can't seem to find much about them online that isn't 1-2 years old. Your description of Noname in your old FR certainly make it sound like a fun & hot place to be in.

For language error issue, just pick up a data sim card when you arrived at Harbour Bay. Google translate is your best pal while chionging in foreign land. I understand that it is not that accurate but somehow it still works. Worst come to worst type translate word by word.

Just a small update here :

1. Batam now very crowded.

2. Exchange rate at Formosa Hotel itself 9300/SGD.

3. Batam is raining as i type this message. (makes walking around very difficult)

4. Formosa Hotel no more rooms for walk-in from today onward.

Rain finally going to stop...went recce 2nd round,but yet to find Happy Massage 8...i think i'll give it a miss. May drop by Gold Bird later but not before heading to Queens8933...need to consider the rain and the time now...lol
