To begin with, you should not have put down 2 weeks as your intended length of stay. because even when I list it as a 1 day stay, they stamp a 30 day validity period of stay.

You were harrassed because they probably wanted to "milk" you of some kopi money. Looks like you outlasted their patience!

Yeap, unsure, but most likely for the 1st 3 days (at least), starting from tomorrow will be closed according to local customs. I am not very sure, but if not wrong, beginning 1-2 weeks is the most intense one, where more night entertainment places will be asked to close.

However, if resourceful enough, you still be able to find some shops operating, especially, places like Planet and Pacific may open.

Latest news According to my limited resources, I just found out that the following joints have been warned and told to be well behaved: Queen, Femina, Flamingo, Fortune, Indah 2, Fortune, Top One and Atlanta. These joints will have their daily operation observed by related authority and according to the resource, need to actually close for A MONTH at least. Rules are made to be bent. So it is not closed for a month actually, but with limited activities. MOS of Batam has done carpet search and found that it is true. They ONLY put some WLs (maybe old and little plump?) just in case being caught (to reduce their losses, if any). But contradictary, they can't just don't open for business. So, that is the situation now.

Other joints which not mentioned here (they did raid in Pacific, but pacific still operates as usual), most likely were not visited by the raid or whatsoever, still operates as usual.

However, piece of advice, don't have great expectation to have a great bonk this coming month, well, just become a monk for a month. Those who like to go to Batam sing song talk cock, see see look look, shopping and eating, shopping and eating, can still go. Some other joints may be still in operation, depending on the calendar! Also, some ceweks maybe already balek kampong, fasting to clean their sins! Good luck!

See so many post giving advise to skip, postpone chiong trip and U still want to venture. Try your luck at all the joints, those have back door use their back door, those closed and lock no back doors U pass. For disco (IF open) If want to hunt dun go too late coz they will close earlier for 1 month. But if you really thick skin enuff and can sweat talk abit, there are still alot of SPG around.
