Yap i think the part on saving/keeping money is a bit subjective....i think it has to do with an individual's upbringing and their perceived attitude towards money....

As for telling lies, well I have to agree to a certain extent because I have personally witnessed their fantastic ability to handle up to 5 different man at the same time.(when they are working as WLs) So i guess they do have this "skill" in them ...but i have seen them in their non-working hours and they come across as frank and direct to me...as far as my experience is concerned...but i guessed there might be a time lapse here cos gals i've observed may be very different from the very young ones here nowadays, who might be more liberal in their outlook in life???...different generation perhaps??

However, to say its their way of life? I dunno, but i feel I may be labelled as one of the "suspects" as well here!! haha...I mean who dun tell white lies once in a while....I feel its quite a harmless tool in today's inter-personal communications!!

I agree that telling WHITE LIES is a part of modern day living. But vietnamese are very often professional liers. They lie with the ultimate aim to getting more money. Singaporeans find these act sickening but if you grow up in that sort of poverty, maybe you will be worse than them. Singaporeans have to travel more and understand more of foreign cultures. We cannot always be that protected. We always like to boast about our efficient government, low levels of crime etc etc. But think of the price we are paying for all these? is it worthwhile? If you pay other Ministers of other countries a few million SGD a year to manage a small country, they can do the job well too.. maybe much better.

Yes!!

In S'poor, we always say law, law and more law. we depend on others to protect us, to fend for us and to come out for us......anything call police!!....cheated?? call police!!...someone steal my underwear? call police!! my cat stuck on the tree?? call police!! you try tell people law in foreign countries??

Well, they might just say " lim bei is the law here!!!" hahahaha

Let's just say, in countries where ppl have to wait between a few hours to a few months before help arrives to assist them, they have to evolve and take care of themselves by protecting themselves. We have to realise that sometimes, help is not just a call away......that is if you have a mobile phone in the first place.....

So naturally, they do have their way of "defending"themselves which we may find amusing or irritating.....

I guess foreigners cannot understand why we always rush to queue up and take mountains of food at buffets as well....hahahahaha

12) Gossips...best gossippers found in Vn...one story can be repeated countless times to everyone known to them....

plus they got lots of saliva... one simple thing, they can use many sentences to talk and to describe. Sometimes, I see them talk for quite a while and to reliase that only one simple thing. So my guess ... the first few words or sentences and the last few are redundant. Just focus on the middle part.

With the economy sliding into its deepest recession in 60 years, Singapore is deeply affected. Many bros may be very much worried about job prospects for the year. How many brothers have explained the situation to their vietnamese spouse? At the same time, yr vietnamese spouse may want to explain the present economic conditions in Singapore to their parents / relatives in Vietnam, so that committments can be reduced? Many vietnamese spouse do not read the newspaper at all. I make it a point to explain what i read from the newspaper daily to my wife. I want her to know what is going on so that adjustments can be made when necessary.

Vietnam is also in dire straits(much earlier than S'pore). Get ready for more
SOS calls for 1st aid($$)

At least, in Vietnam, if you live in the countryside, you can still live off the land. In S'pore, no job means jump MRT.
