I heard fr many gals, those gals who have married, no need to take care of parents, those gals who still live with parents must support them.... is it true?

Coincidently talking on same topic at coffeeshop yesterday...

This theory only applies to the local. Seems like we as a foreigner boyfriend / husband will take the burden of taking care whole family/relative

What my galfriend tells me:
She have to worry for her parents and 1 youngest bro who is still schooling. All her elder sis and bro are married and had their own family to worry for, so there is not enough money to worry for parents and yougest bro. If she married me and her bro completed schooling in 2010, her youngest bro will take the burden to worry for her parents. She will worry only for me.

Bull shit la. If the gals marry a foreigner bf, then she has to take care of the parents. The most typical scenario is all the sons married, but earn too little. Daughters all married locals, also poor. So your gal married you, you are foreigner, and in their dictionary, there's no poor foreigner. Your gal will be alright if her family doesn't disturb her, and she will tell you this and that to comfort you. But once married to you and the family calls to ask for money, and you refused to give, then she will show you her true colours. Not married to vietnamese you won't know, wait till the day you sign on the dotted line, then you know. but of course, nothing is 100% good. You take some good things must also give some back.

Bro, what your gal says is too good to be true. Now you are in love, so what i say also no use. You mark my words, within 24 months after marrying her, everything will be different.

Yes. In love for about 2.5 years with her, and I am proud that we lasted that long with a long distance relationship. I am even more proud that I can last that long with a gal.

I just listen to what she say and hope its true. Anyway, I am continually educating and brainwashing her. Hopefully by the time i sign on the dotted line (again), she is well taught by me.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

Like what bro Singbiet mentioned, once you sign the dotted line, reality kicks in. And in their dictionary all foriegn son-in-law are rich.

It does not mean that the wife or gf is bad, but this is how their worlds works. And if you think a few years/months can easily change their mentality that was engraved into them for decades, then it will be a daunting task.

To give, you will have to eventually, the different is how often and how unreasonable only.

True loh.. I see my friend who married to a VN ger.... Before marriage, just a BGR thing, very good to him. Takes care of him everything even though there is no $$ involved. But things changed after he married her....

Complaint to me everyday abt his ger family asking for $$ loh.... Even earn $4k per month also not enough to give to the family... Their requests endless...

Well he made the choice. So now he is trying to brainwash the ger but like many bros are talking about... It takes DECADES!!...

I took almost 5 years to brain wash my wife. Not easy job hor. Must be determined. First, u must understand her life story and see what areas to pick on to explain the situation to her. Secondly, you must know the correct way to put it across to her. Not easy, but can try. Good Luck
