Maybe look into India, since it will overtake China as the world's most populous nation?

For Hong Kong, change to Hong Kong $ at the many money exchanges around town as other currencies accepted but usually at a lousy discount.

For Macau, HK$ is accepted at par to Patacas (which is approx 1% less value) while RMB quite generally accepted but again at lousy discount. Many local Macau residents still use their Patacas, visitors, not much as it's a hassle to change into Patacas and worse when trying to change left-over cash back to one's preferred/home currency.

Seniors bros, is hkd 1000 the going rate nowawdays in Macau? pardon me as it was my first trip there. Managed to go to the old Lisboa around midnight and didn't see any street walkers in the underground link as was previously reported.
U r lucky, usually they will quote 1k. once you are done bathing, naked on the bed, she will pop the golden question. 1k for a normal fuck? or add in?

1 mop = 0.97HKD.

Apart from Casino, all other area in Macau uses mop/pataca.

every 1000hkd, the is a 30mop diff. = abt $4.5 sgd.

Last time I had some pataca dividend, I exchanged it for HK$ at a rate of 1.04 to 1.00 - and that was only after going to a few places as the amount I converted was enough to make such an effort.

Question, if one was to convert HK$ into patacas, could one actually get that official exchange rate of 1.00 = 1.2977?

Macau hotels are priced at least double to ??? Compared to Shenzhen ones, but especially those with casinos in them are uber deluxe - even more decadent than Las Vegas ones IMHO.

Macau hotels are more expensive - at least double the price of comparable Shenzhen hotels.

And many Macau hotels are of way higher standards than SZ ones. And of course priced way more expensive.

How was your experience?
I was in ZH and too a private car that bring me directly to airport 3weeks ago. I stay in gongbei and traffic was bad for the first 15min, then a smooth ride of about 15min to reach hengqin then 10min to reach Macau airport. My flight was 5pm and crossing custom was fast without any problem. Saw a long Q for china passport but foreign passport was empty. Hope my info helps.

Shenzhen does have some very nice hotels at very good prices; more than adequate IMHO.
