Ya, not surprising to hear that. Because in Singapore some of the Indonesian maid told me that they do consume pork too as they just follow what their employer eats.

In Singapore and bolehland, the malays are born as muslim, they are not allowed to change their religion. Even if they should marry with a non-muslim, be it a man or a woman, their spouse-to-be have to be converted to muslim.

As for Indonesian Javanese/Sudanese/Malays/minangkabau/bugis/madurese/etc they are born muslim but they can choose their religion when they grow up. I know of a maid from java tengah who used to be a muslim and later she convert into a Christian. Freedom of religion is commonly seen in Indonesia.

According to my encounter, 7th month seems to be a low-season for Sporean to cheong.

As for Msian, they are generally more pantang or superstitious so will try to avoid the streets if possible and their preferred destination is balai as it is nearer to malaysia when they depart from Kukup or puteri harbour in jb and is cheaper too.

In last few decade in china, the Chinese people were taught and "brainwash" with communist idea and way of life. Communism do not believe in religion, that is why most of the Chinese in china especially the central and northern Chinese even the southern Chinese do not believe in the 7th month god & ghost. (神鬼).

As Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand/Philippine/Hong Kong/ Taiwan overseas Chinese like our ancestors originate from southern china before the communism, they brought with them to southeast asia all these olden days beliefs and practices.

Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar may not have 7th month kind of thing. However in Vietnam not so sure as they have a strong cultural link with China. The Vietnamese cewek or known as the Pho are more of a yellow skin than brown sugar. They have the almost same face feature and skin colour as the Chinese and that is why sometime they can be mistaken as PRC cewek.

I am not quite familiar how to differential a real and a fade one. Just know that the taste of luwak coffee at level 3 Nagoya hill mall was nice. Perhaps need some coffee expert to find out.
Please allow me to correct you a little...

In Singapore, Malay Muslims are allowed to change their religions, although it is generally frowned upon by the Muslim community. I had a Muslim friend who converted to Christianity when he was in his early 20s; while he was able to do it, his family disowned him... It is only in Malaysia that Muslims are not allowed by law to change their religion.

Likewise in Singapore, a Muslim may get married with a non-Muslim without having him or her converting to Muslim, in what is known as civil marriage. This takes place in ROM rather than ROMM (registry of Muslim marriage).

I hope everyone agrees that "most expensive" does not necessarily mean "best quality" or "best taste". Like girls in Sedona.
I will not comment about shit-coffee, but I know for sure that:

1) I tried Kona coffee from Hawaii, and it is considerably less tasty that any good Colombian coffee (I buy kilos of coffee every time I visit that lovely country)

2) It must be a joke, if anyone would rank any coffee from Starbucks among 10 best coffees of the world.

Actually Borobudur is not a hindu temple but is an ancient Buddhist Temple in Magelang of central Java. The design is very unique such that it was built using Javanese Buddhist architecture blends with ancestor worship.

Borubudur being the largest buddhist monument in the world was abandoned and hidden in the jungle for many centuries and it was finally discovered by sir stamford raffles (the british ruler of java and founder of spore) after being informed by the native people.

These days, buddhists in Indonesia celebrate Vesak day at the monument every year....

Talking about Bali reminds me of the olden days of Bali in the 1920s and 1930s because during those times the cewek were mostly naked on the streets. At that time, many angmoh men desperately went there just to enjoy the "beautiful scenery" and took pictures, indeed was a wonderful place for naturalist and nudist too... Nowadays not many nude beaches to go...

Hopefully Batam can be a bit more creative like Hatyai in the 90s where there are young girls strip show in the booking joint.

They will wear a number tag available for cheongster to book them rather than the boring gold fish tank concept in Batam....

Yes, although religiously or morally speaking singapore malay muslim are not supposed to convert himself to other religion and marry with a non-muslim, however legally he is allowed to do so at the ROM as you mentioned. But the price of sacrifice could be a little high as he will end up sever ties with his family.

However on the other hand, Malaysia is a strict muslim country. Muslims generally may not convert to another religion, although members of other religions may convert to Islam. All Malays in malaysia have identity cards with the word "ISLAM" on the card's face. The identity cards enable "religious police" to identify them.

Anyway, thanks for your sharing of info..

Re: Batam Info Thread

Hi bros,

Sorry for very delayed FR.
Went to batam last friday with my friend.Took ferry from Stulang to batam centre. Bought few beers along. Once the ferry took off, went up to enjoy the beers we bought and nice chilly weather.the journey was about one and half hour. Chit chat with my friend about the possibility outcomes in batam during ramadhan.Reach batam centre about 12pm,went through immigration, suprisingly no q at all. Went to check about VOA for bro nono, the charges are SGD 15 for 7 days, and SGD 35 for 30 days. Other than ASEAN countries, require VOA.once they chopped the VOA on the passport, need to q specified lane, which most of the time empty.all this can be found on the same arrival hall at batam centre. Once pass through the immigration, went to change money. SGD 1 for IDR9200. Changed SGD100 first and went to Kaha which is next to it. Book formosa hotel for idr 455000 for 1 night stay. After that went to Megamall using the connecting bridge with the terminal. Then I noticed that all ticketing counter been shifted from level 1 to ground level. Went to Megamall, roam around, very quiet, so we went to take a cab to formosa. quoted idr 60000, the standard price. The journey took ab 15mins,and for 15mins,the taxi driver keep on asking about cewek. I asked him whether the joints are open or not, he say mostly are open, even if close, but not close fully. I denied his offer politely, and took his namecard just in case. Once reach formosa, checked in to our rooms.

Once settled down, my friend and I went to nagoya hill for lunch. Once finish, went back to hotel. I suggested my friend to take massage at kings massage. So we went up 4th level, some renovation going on, went in.The guy in the counter show the gals album to choose, so we choose one each for us and ask him to send the ML after 15 mins. We went back to room and I took shower and standby with towel. After 15mins the ML came. Looks Ok,the body is fantastic.Greeted her and let her come in. She prepared the bed for massage. Took 1 1/2 hour massage for idr 150000. So she started to massage. Massage was good and relaxing. Once finish with back part, she asked me to turn over. She continue to massage and suddenly asked whether want special or not. I asked her how much. Then whatever she say next really shocked me. Hj for idr 600000 and fj for idr 1mil. WTH ! I told her too expensive so I denied her. She told me been 2 weeks that she had sex and craving for it. I told her that it is too expensive. I could get a cewek for idr 600000 for a nite, atleast with 3 or 4 shots. Too much...she keep on asking so I told her I will take Fj if offered idr 400000 plus tips if I satisfied. She keep quiet for a while.
Tbc....

Re: Batam Info Thread

Plan this trip quite some time. Stay slightly longer than the previous few trips

Name of hotel: Hotel Kireinn
This hotel is located at jodoh area, is very near to our harbourbay ferry jetty, is about 7 min journey to the jetty and there is a shopping center located near the location. Jodoh center and also alot of street market like our pasar malam.

Address of the hotel:
Komp. Tg. Pantun Blok F No. 7-8
Sei Jodoh, Batam - Indonesia
Telephone: (+62) 778 430 888
Online booking is available.

This a a normal budget hotel, is new renovated and also the hotel ambience is nice.

Advantages
- Room is clean, big, dark and cosy, nice ambience
- Easy access, as shopping mall is walking distance
-have wifi and the wifi is strong, will not get cut off easily
-aircon is strong
- order of food is easy as there is a small cafe there
- normal budget hotel and rates is really cheap.
- breakfast is buffet style, only a few item but is good enough
- a lot of socket for charging handphone
- small hotel but have lift

Some pics of the hotel room.

Disadvantages
- no bathtub
-no incall massage service (but there are massage place just beside and opposite the hotel)
- standing shower, i dont like that
- no refrigator for my chill drink
- no hot water all is cold water

This hotel is quite new too. The external of the hotel is simple.
Overall i think is a good stay cos is a budget hotel with a good rate but look like a 5 stars hotel. I will still prefer to switch around to stay at different hotel for next trip and share different information. There are also many hotel within the surrounding of this area.

Thank you for sharing, when i read the link given by you,i was about to tell you your coffee is NOT luwak coffee, but when i read your link again (i am wrong),it says the coffee you recommend was called "Weasel" coffee in Wetnam from the Legendee Family...i went online to do a check weasel coffee,it's Luwak Coffee....lol

Very good info and i learned something today.

Judging from the price given on the link,i wonder how come it's so much cheaper than the Batam's Luwak coffee? Could it be the REAL thing? Hehehe...

After some further online research,i came to know that there are 3 ways of Harvesting Luwak coffee aka Weasel (Cat-shit) Coffee.

1. From factory direct. Which means the factory has a way to scientifically go thru the process of making the coffee beans as if the weasel (cat) has eaten them and shit it out WITHOUT actually having a REAL WEASEL to do so. More of a scientific process.

2. This method is from weasel farm where farmers capture many weasels and fed them with the coffee beans, hence harvesting it later when these weasel shit it out.

3. Naturally picking up the coffee beans shit out by these weasels who live naturally in the wild forest/jungle who are not under captivity by humans.

Luwak coffee made thru the above 3 processes are all REAL Luwak coffee ,except the part that all 3 of types of Luwak coffee are of different pricing. No. 1 being the cheapest ,no.2 2nd most expensive and the third being the MOST expensive.

I am guess the one that was on your link are from No.1 or 2 tho. And most likely hardly anyone can tell the difference between the 3 too...lol

Oh,i didn't know that Indonesia Muslim are being divided into so many group, where by some group are stricter than the others. I guess it's more about how each religious leaders define the meaning from the Quran.

Hmm...you just reminded me that my Parent used to employ an indo maid some years ago,and during 1 of the CNY when my parent brought her along to one of my relative's place, she was ask to clean up some dog's stuffs that belongs to this relative, and my Dad scolded my relatives about it cos of her (maid) religion. And my relative's argument was that she has asked and our Indo maid says "it's ok to do".

Now i finally understand.

Thank you for this update, now i will probably be planning my trip. Guess i am more afraid of a crowded Batam rather than hantu...lol. I may not go solo this time round. And likely to make some temple visit too.

In Indonesia, we have constitutional law that grant us the freedom and right of choosing of religion. even though was born as muslim, you still allow to convert to other religion by law. so it's not surprising to see many 'majority muslim tribes (javanese, melayu, etc)' are actually non-muslim. i have many javanese friend who are actually either christian or catholic. some javanese are even buddhist. but not chinese buddism. their buddhism adopt from their ancestor which is derived from ancient buddhist kingdom in java. more similar to thai/myanmar buddhism.

as indo chinese, we also share a lot of similarity with singaporen and malaysian chinese in term of religion and religion related activity. after all we're all share the same root. in our family culture, 7 ghost month is also very pantang month.. we always avoid any sea related activity or being into unfamiliar place alone. but for entertainment,, it was never part of the restriction.. i guess its up to own personal believing..
Very interesting indeed. I remember during 1 of my Batam trip,a taxi driver once told me that indo Govt don't tear down Temples or Mosques unless they (the respective religious leaders) decide to move it themselves. And that applies to developers who has bought that piece of land for urban development. Whatever these developers do,the religious place/s within the land they bought should remain untouched.

It goes to show that that indo Govt respect most (if not all) religions. This is something that Sillypore Govt should learn from Indo. (sillypore govt been tearing lots of old temples and converting some to museum)

1) I tried Kona coffee from Hawaii, and it is considerably less tasty that any good Colombian coffee (I buy kilos of coffee every time I visit that lovely country)

2) It must be a joke, if anyone would rank any coffee from Starbucks among 10 best coffees of the world.
1st,sincerely thank you for not quoting the whole post (i do understand my posts are usually exceptionally long and i'm sorry abt it as i cant help it),you do abide to 1 of the rule in this forum from more than 10 years ago whereby most would be advise against quoting the entire post. During then,we were also advise against making multiple postings too, hence today,i quote only what's necessary for easier cross-reference reasons and only make minimum posting. That's why my post are usually 1 single post but very long.

The list i post was extracted from a website about the top 10 most expensive coffee in the world (it wasn't my opinion). And i totally agree with you...most expensive coffee do not equates to the Best Coffee, and technically it applies to all Batam booking girls as paying more do not equates Good service standard,hehehe...

1. I'm on Reishi Coffee everyday. A kind of African-made coffee mixed with Reishi,a kind of herbs from 5000 years ago. It's more of a food therapy type of coffee which regulate body cells and detoxifies the human body. Cheap and good...lol

2. Not a fan of Starbucks coffee. They might be in the top 10 list for the best Coffee if someone compare it among the Fast Food Restaurant around the world.

Hopefully Batam can be a bit more creative like Hatyai in the 90s where there are young girls strip show in the booking joint.

They will wear a number tag available for cheongster to book them rather than the boring gold fish tank concept in Batam....
Interesting Video and information. My wishlist would be there would be Nude beaches in batam,it's going to be a boom to indo tourism and the business for booking joints,KTVs and Massage place would be RED HOT!

Strip Tease? I think i read previously from this thread that there was a few gathering in some Batam KTVs where they have a strip dance show....a pretty turn on occassion then,hehehe...

I could get a cewek for idr 600000 for a nite, at least with 3 or 4 shots. Too much...she keep on asking so I told her I will take Fj if offered idr 400000 plus tips if I satisfied. She keep quiet for a while.
Tbc....
Camping....pitching my tent awaiting the part 2....hehehe...hope she will give in to 400k FJ....hehehe....

Thank you for helping me gather the information on VOA...very much appreciated. I have also bold out the key information of your report for my own reference. Once again, thank you for sharing and will be awaiting for pt 2 (or 3).

Cheers!

She take you as a carrot. KNN, sure kena scolding from me, if I am you.

If she SYT( usually, I don't go for them) , the max I offer for HJ is 200K, FJ at 400.

If she is MILF with boobs bigger or about 40F size, I pay the same as SYT( me sucker for big boobs).

Other than that, usually, MILF rates are 100K for HJ, 200k to 250K for FJ.

Cant be helped either, ramamdan, they trying their best to earn more,
