(its nearly 2 thousand pages in this thread to read to find the right info now,hehehe) Creditsss goes to all the bros here who contributed and share positively. Going to Batam is like going Sentosa in Sillypore. One of the main difference is Batam requires a passport,Sentosa dont,hehehe...

1. Book a ferry ticket

2. Book a Hotel

3. Off you go.

4. Grab a taxi which are readily available outside the Harbour after your check out of custom to head to your hotel.

5. The rest will be on the map and the given information on my signature where you locate the place you wish to go.

6. Enjoy yourself and come back the same way you go.

Easy,right? Hehehe....and while its good to know the indo language,it isnt compulsory as most people there will be able to understand "broken" simple English.

Hi bro...when a soup base food is boiled above 70 degree celsius,most if not all germs and bacteria in it would be pretty much dead. I believe drinking from the tap water in batam would have causes more "lao sai" situation then from the bak kut teh,hehehe....reminds me sometime ago,i saw a blog on someone visiting Batam,found a tiny "worm-like creature" from the running water of the tap. And another case where the bath tub filled with water was in light greenish/brownish colour. Now imagine using these water to cook,to bathe and make ice without going thru the boiling point process.(i doubt most food stores in Batam uses mineral water to cook their food,except some restaurants) Hmm...i remember vividly a good advice given to me from a senior bro here, "...unless you have a stomach made of steel,NEVER drink from unknown source nor the tap...". Exactly why i dont take any bottled drinks outside with ice in Batam to prevent myself from "lao sai"-ing,hehehe...

In my next trip,if time allows,i will try talk to the Bak Kut Teh auntie about prioritising on handling their food in a more hygienic way....see if can reach a win-win situation for "me" to continue to eat their Bak Kut Teh. Hopefully i dont find "Mickey Mouse" in their soup like the recent case happening in Sillypore.

A lot of people forget not just food and water but ice in your beverage also can be deadly if water source is contaminated.

My guessing sm bros will source good deal sm don't.Sm will bargain sm too shy to do that. Singaporean are mostly programmed to pay @ prices being quoted or tagged directly from sellers wen young. Tats y i say in my last previous post tat bro nono1973 has garner a very detail scene in batam.

U are being modest here. Nearly 2000 pages,it's ok. I am reading backward nw but mainly on yr postings cos they r informative to the very closest detail. At least my batam sexcursion isn't any time soon,i will take time to read. Hope u hav a gd cny trip & will b awaiting new fr from u.

THat was YEARS AGO when I went there. Bad service. Run down. Gal keep going out to do things, makan sweet, and lousy special service. Not too sure about now. Maybe they changed management and gals. Or renovate.
