Welcome to SG, a paradise for foreigners..... The hawker center near my house are dominated by "skilled" PRC. Their food taste like shit. Maybe we dunno how to appreciate their skill. There was once I ordered Hor Fun, within 30 sec the food came. hmmm..saw the first few pages of the earlier posts and realised that i am quite lucky in terms of having a vietnam wife.

Most bros here are right that viet gals put their family ahead of everything. Last time when i gave my gf money to go back vietnam, she will always buy things like washing machines, water heater, curtains etc for the house. And she kept very little money for her own expenses.

And becos they have a culture of giving money to their elders and relatives' kids during new year even though they are not married but old enough to work and earn money, so basically maybe they have adopted this thinking of putting their family on top of the list.

Whenever i go back to her house in vietnam, and i see how she dotes on their family, i feel quite happy. Though not luxurious but at least manage to make their living slightly better.

And my mother in law is quite understanding too. She is working at a factory and maybe becos she had ever work in overseas, she tends to be more understanding. She doesnt ask much from me and just wan me to treat her daughter well. I even tried giving her $500 every mth for allowance but she rejected me and said she had enough as she is working.

So i guess i am quite lucky in this area. The mom even say that nowadays, its better for couple to work together and earn a living becos it will be quite hard if it was just the husband that is working only. But i dun think my wife can work during this period of time ba?

We have gone thru our traditional wedding in vietnam and this july we will be having our formal R.O.M in sg. hopefully everything goes well.

HH88 mentioned a few times on the 90 days .... For me I am sure my wife, gf then stay more than 130 days n tt's on 2009. From a bro posting , he mentioned not more than 180 days ..

I did that n the best I did not buy her a return ticket. They asked n i replied I am applying her ltvp.

Bro KT case is more unique as his ba xa has been deported and banned for 3 years before. I think i did mention quite some time ago that although his ba xa has been allowed entry again, but to gain long term stay status will be quite tough. Its not possible that record is clean again, especially in Singapore . Maybe Bro KT can approach his MP for assistance as his family members has been active in grassroots activities .
