'Eh intern! You busy?' a voice broke the silence in my area of the office.

'Err.. No.. How can I help?' I replied.

'Seems like I am the only one left that hasn't treated you lunch in the team, you free for lunch today?' he asked.

'Err.. Yeah.. Can can.. Let me know when its time to go' I smiled.

It was the second week of my internship, I was quickly picking up on the office dynamics and what was expected of me. Ever since I entered university, I have aspired to become a corporate girl, and I finally got a taste a of it when I starting going for internships. I enjoyed the 'lifestyle' - getting to dress up, doll up, put on heels, and feel the male gaze as I walk by. I might be delulu but I liked it, it felt like validation.. of sorts.

'Lets go Claire!' a familiar voice returned awhile later

'Okie! Give me a second..' I saved my work and gathered myself.

I thought to myself for a split second
'Should I do it? Should I not? Fuck it Imma do it'

Knowing that he was standing somewhere behind me, I turned my chair's backrest to the side, pushed my ass out a little and bent over to 'retrieve' something from my bag in the pedestal. 'Oh... Should be ok lah.. You can intern here means grades should be ok.. The chances of them picking someone from the summer intern pool very high' he comforted me.

'Must be study very hard in school right.. but you look like party animal leh' he observed.

'Me? Of course studied la.. Where got party animal.. hahaha.. look only..' I laughed.

'Sure not? No boyfriend?' he questioned.

'Hmm.. Not really boyfriend.. More like situationship?' I replied.

'Wah.. Your generation and mine not very far apart but you guys way more liberal ah..' he commented.

'From where one this guy' he asked.

'Oh.. From my previous internship lor..' I replied.

'Wah.. Means I also got chance?' he joked.

'Hahaha.. Maybe lor.. Why? You like me ah?' I teased back.

'Oi don't anyhow say hor.. Aiya but you shouldn't have trouble getting a boyfriend one lah..' he laughed.

'See lor.. Every guy think that way that's why till now I still in situationship I guess.. Game theory you know? Hahaha' I joked.

The conversation went pretty well but I wasn't sure what I wanted out of it. Am I gonna lead him along? Or will there be a climax to whatever we are doing? It was only the first time we had lunch one to one but I was really curious about how far I can tease him. It was true that I was in a situationship, but how much does that count?

'Ok ready to go? We go get gongcha before going back' he suggested.

'Mmm! Ready! Are you ready?' I asked.

'Ready? Duh.. If not I ask you for what?' he looked confused.

Our walk to the bubbletea shop was relatively quiet compared to our chatter over lunch.

'Ok now they cannot say I never treat you liao.. Hope you liked the food' he commented as the lift door closed.

'Yeah I really did! Thanks for the treat! I buy you the bubble tea next time ok? My turn' I offered.

'Don't need lah.. You intern.. Save your money better' he replied.

'Ohh.. Ok.. I treat you other things ok?' I giggled.

'Wah you're quite the joker leh' he replied as the lift door opened.

I pressed the door open to let him out first, as I was right by the buttons but Edmund kindly declined and offered me to go out first. My mind immediately thought about teasing him again.

'Oi.. Don't leh..' he replied.

'Don't worry.. you can see again on another day' I said in a hushed tone, smiling.

Edmund just shook his head as his face turned red again. That was when I knew I had him in my pocket. He was honestly a joy to tease.

We went back to our respective desks and did our work. But as with most internships, I got bored after a couple of hours and decided that I wanted to tease Edmund again.

'Eh.. You haven't thanked me leh!' I sent him a message on Teams.

'Thank you for what?' he replied.

'Hmmm.. For letting you see.. something.. ' I replied.

'....' he replied.

'Did you like it?' I replied.

'Eh.. You know compliance does sample checks on our Teams messages right' he replied.

'Oh.. Is that your way of asking me to take things offline? Asking for my number?' I continued teasing.

'Oi.. Claire.. Stop it ah!' he came right by my desk to talk to me.

'Wah! You gave me a scare.. Did you run here?' I asked.

'I came from the toilet lah..' he said quietly.

'Ohh.. So.. You want?' I asked.

'Want what?' he replied.

'My panties lor.. ' I teased.

Edmund was taken aback and quickly looked around the office checking if there was anyone near us that heard our conversation. His face was flushed, as if he had been drinking.

'Kidding lah.. My number..' I smiled.

'Wah.. Okok.. I take I take.. You are crazy..' he commented, and quickly passed his phone to me. It was as if we were carrying out a drug deal.

'I will be waiting for your text ah..' I said quietly before he walked back to his desk.

'Text already? ' As soon as I said it, I immediately went back to my computer and sent him another Teams message.

'Wtf.. I just came back siah.. Okok I text now..' he gave in.

We were having a team dinner that Friday at a bar/bistro to informally welcome me onboard, I guess they only say this so that we can dine on the company’s dime. Regardless, I was looking forward to it as I imagined all the fun I could have with Edmund when we introduce alcohol into the mix.

‘Hey.. Tomorrow’s dinner you confirm going right?’ I texted Edmund.

‘Sup.. yeah.. so late haven’t sleep?’ He replied.

‘…. Your boyfriend know you so naughty in the office not’ he replied.

‘What boyfriend? What colour you like?’ I asked.

‘You have boyfriend what no meh.. your situationship or whatever.. what you mean colour?’ He replied.

‘Like.. colour colour lah.. black white etc’ I ignored his boyfriend question.

‘Oh.. I don’t know eh.. blue lor.. why?’ He asked.

‘Oh.. nothing la.. just curious.. I’ll see you tomorrow then.. but I’m still waiting for something before I can sleep..’ I replied.

‘LOL! Ok la.. Goodnight goodnight.. can sleep already?’ He gave in.

‘I show you something..’ I leaned forward and whispered.

I turned to check that the coast was clear before pulling up a side of my panties briefly to show Edmund the colour.

‘Your favourite colour..’ I whispered, and placed a finger on my lips as if I was telling him to keep it a secret.
