Re: Arsenal FC @ Emirates All Gunner fans fall in
From metro:
So our new fitness guru Shad Forsythe has landed at Arsenal. It’s exciting. More exciting than a £30m striker. Why? Becuase a £30m striker is no good if he’s injured or fatgiued. Last season, injuries and fitness levels cost us the Premier League title. This season, that excuse barrier will hopefully find itself removed from the Arsene Wenger list of standard excuses. Here are three things we need Shad to take on. 1) Squad Rotation Too many times last year our team lined up exactly the same. Arsene Wenger is a bit like a fan, his belief is that you always play your best team. This, is a totally terrible way to manage a squad over the course of 60-70 games. You need to utilise the squad. Shad needs to educate the manager on the best ways to do this. 2) Recovery Manchester United were, in a past life, the masters of recovery. Players sprint 80% more than they did 8 years ago. They’re beasts on the pitch, but they’re not machines. You need to have an advanced method of getting players back to full fitness a quickly as possible Shad will have to have a plan put in place to make sure we don’t have players who can barely walk lining up in big games. 3) Training intensity Arsene Wenger has gone on record as saying that his teams train to full capacity all throughout the season. He believes, intense training pays off in the last ten minutes of the game. Trouble is, that might be the case, but intense training leaves players fatigued and open to injuries. Shad needs to find the balance. How hard should players train over Christmas? Who needs more rest? How can the club be more scientific in it’s approach to team selection. If our new fitness guy can tackle those three issues, he’ll keep our players on the pitch for longer, playing at a higher intensity. That’ll equate to more points, especially as we now have more players of a higher quality. Big season ahead. |

Re: Arsenal FC @ Emirates All Gunner fans fall in
Sano-GOAL... What a way to open his Arsenal scoring account !!!! (Officially still zero though)
Much improved from last season but still needs to work hard on his first touch. Campbell shoots well with first-timer strikes.. no extra touches, cool good link up play and has excellent awareness.. Bellerin: pacy and best RB crosser since.... Lauren?... haha.. Martinez: strong claim for 3rd choice GK Chambers: not much to do, not tested much.. Monreal: best stick to LB, CB is not his thing. Rambo: yet another solid performance.. Chambo: good to see him fit and powering forward.. Last edited by jj_jj; 03-08-2014 at 06:20 PM. Reason: added |

Quoted:
Wenger ruled out a move for Germany international Sami Khedira. "We were never close to signing him because Jack Wilshere has come back fit and in midfield we have quite a few offensive box-to-box players," he explained. |

Re: Arsenal FC @ Emirates All Gunner fans fall in
Welsh Jesus to the rescue in a match we dominated and yet looked likely end a draw.
Bloody Chamakh was a beast, snapping into tackles like a DM, wtf.. lousy ref also.. Way too many wrong passes.. Only player who didn't seem to put a foot wrong, maybe once but recovered well - Kudos to Chambers! Anyway a win's a win Champions League, here we come! Up the Arse!!! |
