I will be going up to Ho Chi Min again in the 1st week of January 2006. May have to stay over the weekend. Hope to meet some bros there. PM me.

Hi Singviet, together with my friend, we will be going to HCM on the 13th Jan '06 for 4 days. As this is our first time, we would like to follow some local tour group to tour HCM, can you recommend the following to us :-
(1) a local tour operator ,
(2) which hotel to stay for budget travellers (about a room for $30-$40 per day)
(3) the do's and dont's in HCM
(4) where is the night life activities in HCM
etc.......

When you check in your hotel in HCM, you can ask the staff at hotel. They will give you good recommendations

This question has been answered several times already in this thread. You have to spend time reading thru the posts in this thread to find out. Lan Lan 2 Hotel (www.lanlanhotel.com) , Empress Hotel etc
(3) the do's and dont's in HCM
Dos and Don'ts ? Do bring more money to HCM if you plan to cheong. Or at least bring your Singapore Banks ATM cards. Its not cheap to cheong in HCM. Don't challenge the locals, you are not their match..... too many things to consider for Dos and Don'ts. As per normal for any trip to developing countries.
(4) where is the night life activities in HCM

lol......... this reminds me of Singapore olden days especially in cinemas. In those olden days, if its a good show like Bruce Lee shows, the queue was damn long and some of us will act blur and quietly join the queue to the anoyance of the people behind.

i was in HCM for 5 days & to me was way too short. i would recomend if time permits to stay longer unless u have no interest at all to visit some of the museums & attractions near HCM. The nite scene is very different from Singapore & the drinks r not cheap. Girls r friendly but it is a pity the clubs closed really early at 12. Die die muz try other than singvet's angels r BBQ goat breast. haha. teriffic stuff! Still cannot forget the taste till today. Many clean budget hotel in D1 so should be no problem finding 1 that suits your budget. It will be the best if you have a local to show you ard. I knew a girl when she was working in singapore & spent the most romantic 5 days of my life in Sin City!

U got my best love... the BBQ goat breast!! When i arrived here some years ago, i loved goat breast the moment i tried it. When i stayed near the BBQ goat breast near Thanh Da (District Binh Thanh), i was there 3 times a week. Till now, i will still take BBQ goat breast every week. Bro Euphoria has another place for goat breast in District 3. When bros come to HCM, do not miss out on the goat breasts and the breasts of my angels.. hehehe
