Re: Foreigner Wife!
Phewz.... Finally finalized my wife's renunciation of her previous citizen and gotten the red passport. Anyone knows do we need to transfer our properties (china) to a china citizen? Still getting feedback from the lawyer from there.
But how come her pink IC got to collect together with the citizenship cert during GRC presentation ceremony?

not sure if ICA orciffer want to speak to you as they are very cautious about this...MP might help to push ICA to reveal some details (perhaps hint to you when you should reapply and what criteria to fulfill) my wife is PRC - interestingly she is a graduate from a UK uni (both of us studied in UK) and still took so long to get her PR, even when she is already working with an employment pass during the time we appealed - really depend on the orciffer i think... |

Re: Foreigner Wife!
hi guys, I chanced upon this thread after following a bro's link...
I searched & read thro those pertains to relevant portion, noted SingViet's #274! (back in 2006!) My situation: a) M'sian PR in SG, ok to sponsor SPR (as I graduated here too) b) Intend to marry a VN girl I've met & knew there (she's at VN, non WL) Would be glad to hear frm M'sian, SG bros who has the same experience: i) Fly her to SG ii) Go register at M'sia (across@JB) in 1-day to obtain marriage registration (can do so? I think need M'sia visa to go in for Vn?) iii) Return to SG to stay next day iv) Bring cert to ICA to register her (LTSVP or PR?) v) Both us plan to stay in SG for long I've checked Sg's M'sia Consulate service, nothing can be done there it seems (except applying for visa; unlike in UK or Aust). I think.. - there's need to obtain 'single' status letter (both parties?) - need translation services? (English -> Malay; Viet -> English?) - need to enter M'sia to register marriage but... who's signing/witness on her part? Parents not here.. - M'sia registration can be done at some official places, also religious centres, JP (Justice of Peace) office, I think - after completion in M'sia & SG, also still need to do at Vietnam? (SingViet's entry above? translate Eng-> Viet?) Would be glad to hear from fellow bros... Terima Kasih..

Re: Foreigner Wife!
Hi all senior bros, i marrired with a VN wife. She got her LTVP in april '09. I intend to apply PR for her in 2 months time. I just like to check, normally how many mths later would you apply for PR after they get the LTVP. My employment income is stable at around 50k per yr. Should i try?

Re: Foreigner Wife!
I wish to know. If my wife is a Malaysian ( no work permit or s pass etc ) and if I apply for a Long Term Social Visit Pass for her, does she need to bring in her passport to custom counter and get it chopped everytime she enters Singapore?
I am trying to do away with chopping of the passport cos Malaysia passport is so expensive. RM 300 or so for just one pathetic thin book.
