If the guy already knew her past and had accepted, it's probably not an issue for him. If the girl lied to him or not being honest and open about her past, I don't think the relationship will work for long.

I did not cut off my family because of the ML or any sex worker. It was because of other personal matter which is controversial. Without them, I removed quite a lot of limitations and able to do the things I wanted to do. Tbh, I quite like my current Viet ML, she's the one fixing my deprives regularly now. But her baggage is too much for me to handle so we can at most remain as FWB. Otherwise I would have tried to make her change her job and keep her. Now I have plans to go somewhere to find a long term and possibly permanent girl.
Why I don't mind looking beyond the ML's past. I pick my MLs selectively. They are mostly those who did not have intention to come here to fuck. I don't think they have fucked with more number of guys than the number of girls I've fucked. Not an amazing number, but it's enough for me to have a sense of achievement.
