This type of villain are memorable. Straight cookie-cutter villains are for children's stories. A good villain has strengths, has his weaknesses, and has spots which elicit admiration and pity from the reader. The mark of a good writer is his ability to create that villain, and you have done well in Daryl.

Seriously speaking though, by the time the story ends, I suspect some of us actually view James as the villain, rather than Daryl. The perversion of the story is such that, by the time it gets to the middle and the end, the reader gets very sick of James the husband. No man in his right mind will applaud James's actions.

Although your story has ended some time ago, I just finished reading it and wanted to drop u a note bro TS to thank you and note my appreciation for the effort you took in writing this non conventional story. Reading thru it, various emotions and moments came about, some made me cringe and some made me rise in anger, sadness and sympathy . Your writing ability to cause such emotions must be applauded bro!
