Ya, no worries on flaming part but i guess everyone got their own way or style of spending money. VN living standard expenses can be high or low, it really depends on you.

Example beer:
You can chose to drink beer along the streets which cost ard 25,000 vnd/bottle or going to a German restaurant to drink some import German beer which cost ard 150,000 vnd/bottle.

Can break down how u spent 5k USD??? I spent avg per mth was about 1-1.5k USD when I was in Hanoi. My modern 1 yrs old condo rental in Nguyen Chi Thanh with 2 rooms was 800 USD, paid by my company.

I spent on roughly.... btw this was about 7 yrs ago.

1) mobile, 20 USD
2) utilities, 50 USD
3) internet, 30 USD
4) transportation, 200USD
5) food 300 USD
6) KTVs, bars, pubs, 500 USD
7) misc 200 USD

Your quoted way of your spending doesn't mean it applies to all...
Example;
2) Utilities: yours is 50 USD while mine is ard 150 usd/month.
6) KTVs/bar/pub; yours is 500 USD while mine can be 1,500 USD (you might be paying your shares only while i might be footing the whole bills due to business relations)
7) Misc: 200 USD while mine might be ard 1,000 USD.

There are many ways to spend money, it really depends on individual.
There are no right or wrong.

Agree with YoY sometimes in 1 evening for 2 of us I can spent around S$400- 500 Sin , Dinner cost S$100 , 5 star hotel $180 , Drinks at Sky Bars S$150 , Supper S$50.
Depends on where u go and hang out.
I even had stayed before at the Reverie Saigon Hotel cost me S$500 estimates a nite.
Depends on lifestyle.
Is just like First Class , Business Class or enconmy class .....

Apple and orange... staying in a country and visiting a country is totally different. As a tourist or monger in oversea, u might spend on the above due to the fact, u earn and save hard in your country n want to pamper yourself in oversea. Staying in a country, u dun spend 100 SGD every meal, u dun spend 180 SGD per night for accomodation, u dun supper 50 SGD every night and dun drink 150 SGD in pub every night.

Another ironic comparison, on business trip, I stayed in Shang, dinner in 5 stars restaurant, take SQ only.... end of the day, all paid by company. This is durian comparing to mango.

Identical as in giving money unconditionally to a ger. Sometimes, it is just hear and say....

Steward earning depends on seniority, flight route... Bulk of their salary is made up of allowance. Should be able to make SGD 3.5-6k.....
