(Samping Hotel Istana Batam)

I suppose the address has already included a hotel which should be the nearest one. However, Formasa or Hans Inn is also very close and with higher standard accommodation.

The only establishment(s) that I have encountered in Batam are the cinemas (XXI & Blitz), which is understandable cos the main bulk of their revenue comes from their concessionary stand sales; can't exactly make money out of 25k - 40k per ticket.

Yes, was quite suprised too when I looked at the bill which I usually don't take note.

Agreed with you,some of the places i went to,the girls didnt even bother asking if i want special or pop GQ (becos they see my face there quite regularly,hehehe..). Or you may want to stay at Hana Hotel. It's just opposite New Berry and about 7-8 minutes walk to Happy 8.

You will have much better luck staying at Nagoya. There's only one that I know about but it's nothing to shout about plus, they are not cheap.

Bros going to Batam should take note that those going in from SG will now have to fill up a health declaration form and also go through the infra-red heat scanner; all these will definitely increase the time taken to clear immigration.

My friend went to Batam yesterday (disembarked at Harborbay) and was delayed by almost 40 mins because of the additional measures.

If you are running a temperature, suggest that u temporarily skip Batam (or traveling anywhere for that matter) as you are likely to be quarantined.
