Well they are cheating their own cuntrymen so I do encourage them their own people are just too greedy liao where got such thing as a "$0" tour definitely the tour organisers need to make money mah or else they eat what???

The coffee sold in street-side shops, hospitals and schools tended to have very low caffeine content or no caffeine at all, the association said.

Vietnam's popular resort town shuts down Chinese scam stores

These stores are only open to Chinese customers and discriminate against Vietnamese locals and tourists.

The popular resort town of Ha Long in the northern province of Quang Ninh has ordered 15 stores dedicated to scamming Chinese customers to close following a public backlash that prompted Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to step in.

Power and water suppliers have also been told to cut services to these stores.

The town, home to the world-renowned Ha Long Bay, said the stores have failed to follow regulations at the Mong Cai Border Gate, the main entrance from China into the province.

The number of Chinese tourists arriving in Quang Ninh has unexpectedly soared since the Lunar New Year, and local authorities are worried that the increase is largely due to the return of Chinese-sponsored "$0 tours", which are actually rip-off trips in disguise.

Once they arrive in Quang Ninh, the duration of their sightseeing tours is cut and tourists are led into a number of stores selling commodities listed at rip-off prices.

Commission is paid to the tour companies for bringing visitors to the shops, which reportedly are only open to Chinese customers and discriminate against Vietnamese locals and tourists, according to local residents in Quang Ninh.

Following media reports, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday ordered Quang Ninh authorities to launch investigations into those unscrupulous stores and take action against them.

Last year, a store suspected of serving only Chinese customers in Quang Ninh was fined VND500 million (US$22,000) for listing prices of goods in Chinese yuan and U.S. dollars.

The northern province welcomed 3.77 million visitors in the first quarter of 2017, up 12 percent over the same period last year. Of the figure, 1.23 million were foreign arrivals, up 4 percent.

Road construction turns traffic to Saigon airport from bad to worse

On Nguyen Kiem Street. “People are stuck here every morning when they go to work and every evening driving home. It was bad before the construction, now it’s just gonna be worse,” said a local woman.

Ho Chi Minh City Music Street scheduled for April 28 opening

The Music Street in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, an idea put forward by the administration of District 1, is likely to open late April if the project’s final plan receives no objection from relevant stakeholders.

The street, meant to provide local artists with an area to showcase their skills, is scheduled to open on April 28, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, deputy chairwoman of District 1, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Thursday.

However, Huong noted, the date of an inaugural music show depends on feedback from local departments and the city’s administration.

According to the District 1 proposal, the entirety of Alexandre De Rhodes Street, linking Nam Ky Khoi Nghia and Pham Ngoc Thach Streets, will be transformed into the music street on weekends and public holidays.

The street is located near a number of the city’s landmark sites, including the Reunification Palace, the Saigon Central Post Office, and the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica.

It also borders April 30 Park, a popular weekend rendezvous for the city’s youth and expat community, and lies just a few minutes of walk from the nearby Nguyen Van Binh Book Street and the Nguyen Hue Walking Street.



According to the plan, there will be seven different stages on the Music Street, with performances permitted between 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Traffic on the whole street will be blocked from Friday night to Sunday and during public holidays from April to September for the venue’s pilot opening. During the day, themed background music will be broadcast through a loudspeaker system.

The District 1 administration requested feedback about the plan from public offices and residential houses on the street two weeks ago, but is still awaiting some responses.

The section between Nam Ky Khoi Nghia and Pasteur on Alexandre De Rhodes is currently home to houses and public offices and is therefore planned to be a premises for ‘quiet’ activities, such as trading music books, CDs and instruments.

Concerts and performances will take place on the section of road from Pasteur to Pham Ngoc Thach, which only hosts the offices of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs and the Vietnamese Student Associations.

A prolonged and heavy rain, considered “unprecedented” by a weather pundit, swept through Ho Chi Minh City in the middle of the dry season, resulting in severe flooding in many locations on the weekend.

The downpour caused traffic jams and inundation in various areas in the southern Vietnamese hub, while weather forecasters have warned that the phenomenon may recur in days to come.
