But all this started to change with the mining boom.... there was an influx of white migrant workers from the other parts of Australia into Perth. Accommodation soon became a problem for these new arrivals and many took the opportunity to earn some income and rented rooms to these migrant workers. Very quickly the numbers of whites swelled and they resented the "Asianess" of Perth. It was obvious from the way they behaved and interacted towards the foreigner "citizens". It became common for arguments and fights occurring between the migrant whites and the Asians. Even the Asian children
were not spared from abuse and taunts.

The paradise that was originally present became a nightmare for those who migrated to Perth. My uncle had to resort to keeping weapons in his store and sleeping in as it was frequently targeted by the whites. He even gave free drinks and snacks to the police on patrol so that they would parked themselves in his store. It was the same situation with the other businesses owned by Asians.

Many gave up and quit Perth. I am sure many of you would have known someone who migrated to Australia and decided to return back here. My uncle relocated his family to BC, Canada and the contrast there is so different compared to Australia. The Canadians understand race and human rights and really respect everyone. Even the Canadian whites themselves have condemned the Australians as the most racist country amongst all the white nations.

I do not live in Australia now but I agree with the view that Australians are the most racist people I have come across.

Was window shopping at the newly reopened 43 on Tope. Bella and Sophia looked good, but yeah, the quality has fallen from its past. Some nice memories back then especially with Yumi.
