Vietnam - HCM

Was in HCM from Sunday till Tuesday evening. Here's a brief report on my activities for the short stay.

Touched down airport at 1700hrs. Took about 40 min to clear immigration and another 15 min to clear customs. Worse encounter at an airport with such inefficiency! Haha..

Reached hotel around 1830 hrs and got a message from bro SingViet. So gave him a call and realise he had something on and cannot meet up to show me around. But he did recommend me a place and also gals if I want. But I prefer to have some viewing so decided to reject the kind offer. Went out hotel to start walking around. Looked at the map and found the disco bro SingViet recommended "Club 259" was not too far from hotel, a straight route down only. So decided to walk and find my way down. Big mistake as it took me about 25min by walking and having to avoid all the scooters on the road.

Reached the place slightly past 7pm and went in but was told only opened at 8pm. So no choice had to go out to wait and luckily Metropole Hotel is just opposite so I went over to have my dinner while waiting. Finished my food which was about 8.30pm, then walked into the disco. This time was greeted by the gal who pushed me out earlier.

Was ushered to a seat by the bar counter and ordered my drink. Nice disco with fast music to my liking. Can see lots of gals standing around waiting to come chat with you and discuss deals I presumed as I had been advised by bro SingViet. Not in the mood to up any of the gals as heart & mind were thinking of some other Thai FL that I actually started to feel for. Anyway the ladies at the bar counter started to talk to me. Liveband came on for about 1 hour of performance and the place actually closed at midnight & it seemed to be the practice. Sometime close to 11.30pm decided to call it a night and said byes to the barmaids and took a cab back to my hotel. Nothing exciting for 1st night.

A friend of mine is interested to look for vietnamese lady for marriage. However he cannot afford the price quoted by the local agency -- $14,000+. Anyone who has any lobang?

I thought some agencies are quoting at 1/2 the price? Maybe yr friend can come to HCM City for a few times to look around first

Riight some agencies are quoting 1/2 price but when he visit one of them which quote $7,500 he also worry. This lady boss also do some other business -- tailoring. He worry whether when he pay her whether she can perform although she show him her trackrecord. He doesn't trust her so he worry about his $7,500

He told me he like the service of one of agency but quote him $14,000++ but where got money to pay so much

So he looking for cheap cheap one and yet he can comfortable with. But I don't know whether get such thing as good and cheap

No one business will only concentrate on 1 biz. When there are other oppourtinties, smart bizman sure grab. Your friend weird leh, cheap scared. Expensive .. no money. I think your friend better take Tiger Air to come to HCM to walk around. Maybe this is one of the cheapest way

Totally and fully agreed with you. However there are people who just could not click with someone and would not want to have any dealing. That's very human as I am in the sales and marketing industry for more than 10 years and have come cross many cases in my line of business.

I do join my friend on his visit to the agencies and do understand his reservation.

Having said that, after a few visit with him it somehow kindled me my business acument -- this is a very interesting business -- helping people to get married and opportunities to see young and innocent ladies.

I am now looking at the feasibility of being in the vietnamese matchmaking business. Any bros who have any connection in HCM city who can 'supply' the ladies who are interested to get married -- I mean those village girls and not those KTV gals.

PM me the contact and if the connection is successful I would not forget some angpow for you.

I think u may be one of the late comers into this line of business if u are thinking of starting one. The number of agencies has been increasing in Singapore and the profits has been marginalised due to price competition. At the same time, the number of suppliers of `vietnamese brides' in vietnam has been decreasing due to government crackdown.

With Tiger Air flying and the recent singaporean interest in vietnam, vietnam is no longer that mysterious and difficult for singaporeans. But i do think that you may create a name for yourself in this line if adopt the right marketing strategies.

Internet connection was down for last few days so no time to continue with part 2, anyway here it is...

Monday started with work in office all the way till around 7pm. Then my vietnamese colleague brought me to a seafood restaurant, supposedly the best in HCM. Food was not bad and reasonably priced. Weird....but anyway we barely sit down for 3 min the mummy changed our room to another one and there is TV this time round.
