Fully agree w/ yr last sentence, the web is oni in SG. The govt. k anyhw say wha they wan when we qun them abt their policies but when its their turn 2 go beyond our shore, they kana bullied oso. Eg. the Suzhou Industrial Area, recent Thai Shin scandal.
Sometimes, feel angry when I c hw other govt. bullies us (national pride) but on the other hand, still feel happy cing the high & almightly SG govt. gt a taste of their own medicine (happy, happy implement law w/o considering 4 we, the stakholders )
Hwevr, whaevr losses they mak seems 2 be passed dwn 2 us (rem. the taxes tat seems 2 conicide w/ "possible losses" of GLC?) though they always claims its nt (which we will nvr knw who's rite, so benefit of doubt on both camps anyway). Guess life is a double edge sword.

I think he is saying Mindef aware that he earns 5figure salary and "dare" not call him,but he is able to go ard the book whereby his income tax output is 0. That is the trick u need to know loh. If everyone knows,then suddenly SG have alot of 5 or 6 digits salary overnight.

U need to play with the system if u dare loh. There are ways around very regulations. U need to pry the loopholes.So does thai laws.

I'm ok w/ coming once in a lng, lng while 2 do reservist but hw lng does U all stay o/s? 3 mth, 6 mth or 1 yr which is wha I trying 2 find out.

Cos the MINDEF directive is more than 6 mths o/s, mus req. special permits & mostly oni those posting 4 jobs o/s will gt it. 4 leisure purpose, knt lik go o/s 4 5 mth+, return 4 1 wk, then MIA 4 another 5mth+. Any wk ard?

U mean the FTA, double taxes clause? Wha is the headline tax & types of incentives in Thai then? I dun hav a prospective o/s job, k set up "shell" company, jus joking lah.

Though this project completion is delayed by 5 months, I terminated my involvement in this project cos I discovered tat the handling agent is using SG back office to perform some things, this agent's corporate bank in HK is oso using their SG branch to handle funds transfer in their back office operations.

I told them I made all arrangements in HK, whether it's handling agent or banking / financial matters, I expect everything 2 be carried out in HK. But they involved SG in their operations (I dun care whether it's front or back office, or watever) w/o letting me know, until I discovered. If I wanted things to be performed in SG, I would've engaged an SG agent, or, I may not even need any agent in SG!

I almost wanted 2 take legal action for their breach of contract, but, somehow, my "boss" discouraged that, and, the amount involved is not huge enough to. The account manager in SG office is another clown. I'd mentioned many times obviously, but she juz cant read in between the lines. Until I stormed into her office (in SG) & told her straight in her face, tat the main reason I'm so worked up is simply becos I HATE SINGAPORE!

So I juz said, since they like to use SG or involve SG, dun involve me. Only with my departure, will all contractual agreement be auto-lapse, so I decided to leave the project.

My plans for April will be holidaying ard (tbc): going Chiang Mai for SongKran, and visit Yangon & Angkor Wat b4 & after SongKran. But I'll be using BKK as "home base" in between these travelling. Then after tat, I'll decide which project to work on next, and go to wherever (whichever countries / cities) the project requires.

u are somewhere there, kinda getting wat I trying to say. The catch is, I'm playing ard the book & loopholes. But this arrangement is playing around wif the different laws & loopholes in different countries.

So, 1 doesnt need to really earn 5 digit figure monthly salary. But, if MINDEF really feels so rich or simply really wanna call me back (example admin cock-up), then they really have to pay me 5 digit SGD, to call me back for ICT!!!

Yet, I pay $0 into my CPF, $0 for income tax in SG.

I dowan to say MINDEF "dare not", cos it's Govt leh, only it wan anot, not dare anot. These 2 years' economy / GDP "growth" quite strong, probably they oso have more defence budget for spending, hahaha!

Now, if I'm in SG for more than 30 days or 1 calendar month (I cant really remember), I have to do "visa run"; get outta SG & go back again. Otherwise, MINDEF will likely contact me (going for ICT anot is another matter). I havent go any ICT nor taken any IPPT at all, since ORD, hahaha!!!
