Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Put my hat off to lacoruna bro for the constant summary of result. If you don't take this compliment wrongly, you can easily replace the guys from TNP.
Anyway, the season is getting interesting. Barca is one foot into the last 4 for Champs Lge, will be playing in the King's Cup, and there are still 7 more games to go before the season wraps up. And the team that may have wreck the whole party will be, "Hold your Breath", REAL (Fuck them and their obsessive arrogance) MADRID. The asshole team from the capital may be facing the beloved Barca almost four more times. There will be a Classico meeting in a week's time. We will be almost playing them again in the Champs Lge semi-finals after next week's second leg tie with our respective qtr-finals opponents. And twds the end of April, we will be playing them again for the Kings Cup final. Somehow, we may have be playing them off the park for as long as Guardiola is in charge. But to use an old Chinese saying, if you go up the mountains once too often, one day, you may meet the TIGER. I am concern that one of this tie may scupper our dream of achieving the second treble in the span of THREE YEARS. And when little Bojan is now out for the season, I do hope the thin squad can last the season. Shld this come to pass, we will then have to IMMORTALISE the likes of Messi, Iniesta, XAvi, Pique, Puyol, Keita, Mascherano, Maxwell, Alves, Kirkic, Affelay, Adriano, Valdes, Pinto, Thiago, Abidal, Milito, Villa, Pedro, and Busquets!!! |

This thread was not started by me. I merely took over. All my updates are copied from soccernet. Copy and paste. There are many EPL team threads here. So, a La Liga team thread is a refreshing change. Barca is a strong team. The team to beat. Even their 2nd string players like Bojan Krkic and Pedro are dangerous. A La Liga title is a foregone conclusion. I can't see Barca losing it.

Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Shakhtar Donetsk 0 - 1 Barcelona : Messi winner
2nd Leg: 1 - 6 (Agg) Barcelona secured their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League and a probable showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid after completing a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Leading 5-1 from last week's quarter-final first leg at the Nou Camp, Barca weathered an early storm at the Donbass Arena before netting what would prove to be the only goal of the night through Lionel Messi just before half-time. Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Ya. Well done to the Canteras.
Next up will be the Classico this weekend. A visit to Bernabeu looks set to determine how the winds may change. Then we will play them again next Wednesday at the King's Cup... Very certain if we can account ourselves nicely for this two ties, we can stick a few pickets up Mr Florentino Perez's ARSEHOLE and his expensively assembled and egoistically REAL (no character) Madrid. Won't ask for much... just win 2-0 and 3-0 and we will nicely set for an explosive Champs Lge clash with the peacocks from the capital. Borrow a hokkien phrase, the men in white? Good to see but bot good to eat!!! |

Real Madrid 1 - 1 Barcelona : All square
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late penalty to earn 10-man Real Madrid a dramatic 1-1 draw from the clasico showdown with bitter rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu. Ronaldo's 82nd-minute spot-kick cancelled out Lionel Messi's 53rd-minute penalty for Barca, which came following an incident that also saw Madrid defender Raul Albiol sent off. Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Real Madrid 1 - 0 Barcelona : Ronaldo winner
Full Time: 0 - 0 Cristiano Ronaldo's extra-time header saw Real Madrid edge out fierce rivals Barcelona in the second 'Clasico' in four days to win the Copa del Rey and seal their first piece of silverware under Jose Mourinho. The first 90 minutes had ended goalless, with Madrid on top in the opening period and Barca better after the break. But despite the Catalans' superior possession in extra-time, Mourinho's men looked dangerous on the break and after Ronaldo had angled a low shot just wide, the Portuguese beat Jose Manuel Pinto with a brilliant header following Angel di Maria's pinpoint cross. Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 2 - 0 Osasuna : Barca close in on title
Lionel Messi netted his 50th competitive goal of the season and David Villa ended his goal drought as Barcelona recovered from their Copa del Rey final defeat with a victory over Osasuna that keeps them firmly on course for the Primera Division title. Villa had gone 11 matches without finding the back of the net for his club - including Wednesday's painful cup final loss to bitter rivals Real Madrid - but the Spain international was back on the mark to put a much-changed Barca ahead at the Camp Nou. However, the home side found it far from easy to finish off their lowly opponents and they needed a late strike from substitute Messi to finally guarantee themselves the spoils. The victory keeps Barca eight points clear of second-placed Madrid with only five games remaining, and also means they will go into Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Jose Mourinho's men on a winning note. Real Madrid 0 - 2 Barcelona : Messi brace
Lionel Messi struck twice late on as Barcelona took a huge step towards the Champions League final with a 2-0 semi-final, first leg win over 10-man Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Messi, taking his tally to 52 in all competitions this season, netted in the 76th and 87th minutes - the second a typically brilliant solo effort - to settle an ill-tempered clash which saw Madrid defender Pepe sent off in the 61st minute. Real Sociedad 2 - 1 Barcelona : Barca stunned
Barcelona missed the chance to move within a point of the Primera Division title as they surprisingly lost 2-1 at Real Sociedad in the 34th round of matches. Thiago Alcantara gave Barca the lead late in the first half, but late goals from Diego Ifran and Xabi Prieto - from the penalty spot - handed the Basques a shock win. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 1 - 1 Real Madrid : Barca heads to Wembley
2nd Leg: 3 - 1 (Agg) Barcelona comfortably advanced to the Champions League final following a 1-1 draw at home to fierce rivals Real Madrid at Camp Nou. Following a completely one-sided first half in which Madrid keeper Iker Casillas kept his side in the game, Pedro gave Pep Guardiola's team the lead nine minutes into the second period. Marcelo soon hit back for a vastly-improved Madrid 10 minutes later, but the Catalans never looked in too much trouble and will face Manchester United or Schalke in the final later this month, which sees them return to the scene of their first European Cup triumph, in 1992. Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 2 - 0 Espanyol : Barca on the brink of title
Barcelona moved to within a whisker of their third successive Primera Division title as they beat Espanyol 2-0 in the Catalan derby at the Camp Nou. Andres Iniesta gave Pep Guardiola's side the lead just short of the 30-minute mark and Gerard Pique headed a second three minutes into the second period to give Barca a routine win over their local rivals and see them move to within reach of another title. Barca now need just a point at Levante on Wednesday to confirm a third successive title. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Levante 1 - 1 Barcelona : Barca seal Spanish title
Barcelona eased to their third successive La Liga title with a low-key draw away to Levante tonight to retain their crown with two games to spare. The party kicked off in the 28th minute when Seydou Keita headed Pep Guardiola's side in front to cap a stylish attacking move. However, in-form Levante put a dampener on proceedings when on-loan Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo capitalised on a Gerard Pique error to secure a draw. The point was enough to wrap up the league title ahead of Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid, and they now turn their attention to the May 28 Champions League final showdown with Manchester United.
