I'm doing ERP Systems Consulting. Juz 4 yr info, it's not the Electronic Road Pricing on SG roads hor. All those in the industry will laugh until stomach cramp if u say tat (becos it'll make u look like a frog in the well, know nothing except things in SG only).

Often, besides dealing with the technical IT stuffs, my job involves advising clients (most times MNCs) on Org Structure / re-structuring, ways to carry out business / business processes / transactions, etc etc.

No prizes 4 the correct guess, many MNCs across many industries were advised by such Consultants to relocate their ops outta SG, whether it's going to Msia, Indo, China, Vietnam, etc etc. Mainly cos of lower costs of land & operations (salaries, utilities, etc).

The other reason I got so many offers is cos I'm quite senior in the industry, many end clients wanna employ me directly rather than engaging me through Consulting firms. It's cheaper for them in tat way. And, when I join them, I'll be working for them & taking sides wif them, taking care of their "welfare" in projects which engage Consultants. So when the Consultants are not competent enuf / try 2 screw around, they'll sure get it from me! Tat'll kinda ensure tat they get good quality / standard Consultants, & keep these Consultants on their toes, bringing in more value for the company / end client!

U envy me? I have no fixed "home", I live mainly outta a suitcase of clothes (for all seasons / weather). I may travel at v short notice, ie, can receive a call from my clients / bosses, next moment, go grab air ticket & fly liaoz!!!

I am not in league wif anyone in this forum. I am myself & I speak from my own opinion. If others' opinion happen to be same as mine, it's juz plainly coincident tat we have same opinion.

They are not say not thinking out of the box,just that they cannot make it thats why they have to go back SG. Some are forced by circumstances to go back anyway.

Not everyone is talented or sought after like u.

Those who managed to go bkk work are merely lucky. After which their expertise or skills is not required,its back to home just like other employed workers. That is why i always say dun haolian to those working in bkk. I only pointing at some. Not the rest. Most are can make it one.

Without the job in bkk,u think u can b in bkk meh? chao ah qua...hehee..

ya, it's common, but if u really in this industry, u will notice tat Consultants in SG mostly only knows System Configuration (IT stuffs, follow instructions blindly, inflexible, etc etc), doesn't do / know much about Org / Biz / Corporate / Strategic Consulting.

Yo, missing out on only reason for this thread. Cannot help but notice the yo-yo range over last 1-2 weeks? Saw even once hover ard 21, but for sure it's now well below <23 mark. Small consolation, got couple of phan bt notes left over from last trip 2 weeks ago... Diff no big deal (not enuff to even feed monkeys) but feels good anyhow, until next foray to krung thep

hee hee, from 1 perspective, I'd say I'm blessed wif the opportunity 2 go many countries / cities, find out more 4 myself, where I like / prefer / more suitable, and then probably settle down there!
