hi bros- i never been hcmc and really like to pry myself fr the comfort zone of bkk...wld like advice on the pro and con of chionging in hcmc vs bkk. (ie, price/value, range and type of joints, qualtity/qty of gal, language barrier etc) for a first timer.

Bro, it may be due to reschedule for the flight. if u book online, they may send the reminder/notice to ur email. check it out. i got book 1 flight also like that for jetstar, 3pm+ change to 5pm+.

If he say "khong co" (pronounced as kong kor meaning dun have) or shake his head or tried to give you lump sum than just say "khong duoc" (pronounced as kong dert meaning cannot).

Errrrr by the way please do all these before you board and close the door hor

These are the ones I have tried and safe, Hoang Long, Mailinh, SaigonTaxi, Vinasun, Comfort. Never ever take those "companyless ones cos mostly are pirates

Haiz we already knew that liao, cos was there 2 months back at the border but did not cross over as one of the bro's gal did not have her passport , did not want to risk her safety by taking those smuggling motorcycles

We must tapao the transport and make them wait till we cross back into Vietnam as we will not be able to get any taxi at the border to go back to HCM.

If she mentioned it is the Noblesse Club located at metropole hotel, I dont think it is newly opened however I do know that management has changed.

But sometimes for a new chap, it is quite difficult to tell the difference.
Most of the pirate taxi in fact have meters, and they purposely put a sign on top showing the word "meter".
But their meters jump faster than my heartbeat.
Also, they try to confuse customers that they are the real deal.
Like Taxi VinaSun (which is a good taxi company), their tel number is 8-27-27-27. Some pirate taxi has the tel number 8-277-277 or 8-27-77-27.
So always look for the company name, like Comfort, Vina Taxi, VinaSun, Mai Linh etc.
If you flag down a taxi and realise its a pirate taxi, don't feel bad or shy to wave him off.

Which is why Vinasun is still my fav taxi to take, somemore its seems that they are adding or replacing their taxis at the moment cos many new ones on the road lately.

Just some add-on info, I itchy backside tried the Vinasun VIP once and yup the bladdy meter jump faster than your heartbeat too, board-on rate is already 35,000VND (easy to differentiate from the normal Vinasun cos its dark coloured as compared to white for the normal Vinasun). Cost me almost 3 times the normal rate to get to the airport.......in case you are wondering yes it is much more comfortable
