I never had issue in Manila T1/2/3 as there are a lot of flights I guess .... Seriously, I would avoid the prospect of 'loosing' money at immigration and withdraw by atm and pay the 7$ surcharge (make sure your atm card has cirrus/maestro) or change smaller amounts at money changer .. Changing money is safe, as long as you do during day time and don't change too much - like the malaysian who changed 1,000 $ and apparently counted the 30 odd thousand peso and when he turned he got shot and robbed. Nobody gonna shoot you if you change just 100$ or 200$ ... and you don't need to count in public view. Worse case, change at hotel at lower rate, if late night and don't feel safe ... Be safe bro - if the immigration decide to 'confiscate' the extra money, you can't do tosh - they will give you an official receipt and that's it .. (though I don't know if anybody did loose their money at airport ... but for me I got fined for something else trivial and hell - I did get a receipt ... )

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Don't fool around with those Clarke Pinoy authorities. They practically check everything and will not hesitate to confiscate any item they desire Last trip, they confiscated my laser pen telling me that I might use it on flight to shine at the pilots, causing aircraft to crash BULLSHIT, all the crap is cos they wanted my pen!

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
ProfessorOokami: As I was harping, my experience out of NAIA was different, and I also suspected that Clark can be not so free and easy like NAIA. And with only fewer flights from overseas, the customs has all the time in their hands to check each and every passanger I guess .. sort of like the days I flew into smaller airports in India, and each and every bag was practically ripped out and checked for 'contraband'.
That's what I was trying to tell - mkluv2mi The regulation for PESO is different from US !!! And in any case, even if I take more than 10,000 US$, I would rather not declare, as it would make a happy filipino retire and live happily atleast for one year or more ..

I brought in 9600 pesos which I changed at Lucky Plaza ($300 x 32) and had USD $1,500.00, SGD $800.00 & HKD $950.00 with me. I declared all my currencies and they asked me to show them and actually counted them. No problem at all when all the currencies tallied with the declaration. They then proceeded to check my luggage and helped themselves to some clothes, mugs & tidbits that I had bought from Hong kong Disneyland. As I was leaving the office, the fat guard asked for a piece of each as "souvenir". So gave him USD $10.00 + SGD $10.00 + HKD $10.00. He was happy like fuck and even helped to carry my luggage to the transport. Btw, when I left Balibago I still had balance of pesos as most of the expenditure were covered by credit card so no need to change more pesos. |

2) Yes u can. U can withdraw to the ATMs limit which is usually 10,000Pesos (depends on ATM also) 3) Yes there is 1 ATM as u exit Clark Airport and its on the left. Maybe there's more but i can only remember the one on the left. U can always catch a taxi and ask him to bring u to SM Mall to withdraw more money so that u can pay the taxi fare. Cheers ! |
