Joe Cole should be a good buy,if he stay fit. Hope to see more good and quality buys from those cash generated by players leaving.

Great News for Liverpool. Congrats and well done Roy for the great capture.
Hopefully, Joe Cole, now at 28, can deliver more than in Chelsea.

Just hope that Joe Cole don't end up like another Harry Kewell. Very talented but some how injuries destroyed his time at Pool.

For once i had actually taught that J cole was lured by the 90k per week salary to join L'pool..seems our stevie got contributed his part to attract cole over..

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Who do we have now?
P Reina, G Johnson, J Carragher, M Skyrtel, D Agger, L Leiva, D Kuyt, M Rodriguez, S Gerrard, J Cole, A Aquilani, M Jovanovic, F Torres. Looks like quite a strong attacking team we have. (can be better if can get reinforcement for LB, DM) Left out the following coz not sure whether they will still be around onot. R Babel, J Mascherano, A Riera, N'gog, N El-Zhar. (no regrets about them leaving except for Mascherano). Somehow this Roy Hodgson is giving me very confident gut feelings. I'll have a go and put $100 ($13.00 S'porePoolz odds) on Liverpool to win the BPL 2010/2011. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
we have also signed danny wilson for 2M up front and then possibly rising another 3M depending on performances. So far it's 2 young players and 2 experienced players signed. It's gonna be hard to fit jonjo, joe cole, aquilani and gerrard in the amc role.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Cheers for the signing of J. Cole!
lets hope the selling of Mascherano will be done quickly and we will have some funds to get some more good signings! because i think the money from Benny and Insua (6 mil + 5 mil) is more or less used finished liao. J. Cole signing on fee is not cheap (my anyhow guess would be 2-3 mil, plus 5-6 mil for Aquilani's 2nd year installment). anyway, digress abit, found and read this laughable (i really think so) article on Houllier's interview: http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/60171/default.aspx? extract: "Twelve out of 14 in Istanbul were players I had signed or developed. I left Liverpool with a team and in the Champions League. But when you finish seventh with Torres and Gerrard…" oh my god.. he really have a very thick face to claim that he had left Liverpool with a Champions League winning team for Rafa. doesnt he know the meaning of miracle? underdog? Liverpool was never expected to win the Chams League back.. back to current event, hmm.. interesting how people's opinion of Roy changed so much by the news of the signing of Joe Cole. Kudos should be given to Gerrard, Carra and the senior management team (Purslow) that had been flamed for the past months for screwing Rafa's transfers. below is some of the pieces of "evidence"? extract from article: "I'm very pleased because any concern that it was going to turn into an auction all about money quickly disappeared after myself and Christian Purslow had a long conversation with Joe," Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv at the club's Swiss training camp. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/lates...hy-cole-signed and he said this "I haven't had any discussions with him, but I had a brief chat a while back." 2 days ago. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/lates...-joe-cole-link and dont forget, Cole transfer is already set in motion before Roy was signed.. we blamed the management for selling Benny and Insua before Roy entered, but credits should be given when credits is due, i feel.. they should be given the recognition for engaging the negotiation with Cole before Roy came in.. his talk on Mascherano leaving: "I remember actually saying, 'Don't feel as though you have got to ring back. As far as I'm concerned, it's just important for you to know I am trying to contact you and I am counting on you.'" http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/lates...cole-and-masch if you are Mascherano how u feel listening to such message.. "as far as i am concerned, u should know i am trying to contact u.. u dont need to call me back.." and now i (masch) kenna flamed for not returning your call??? when u said i dont need to do so. wtf. so.. actually, my feel for Roy has not changed that much.. hope he will prove me wrong along the seasons with his acute tactical decisions and the winning of the Europa Cup. as for challenging the League, i still feel that we are still weak.. Cole is a direct replacement for Benny and we still need to find replacement for Insua. the squad depth issue had still not been solved. we are buying/signing to replace outgoing first team squad, not to add cover to the squad.. for illustration, if Cole injured, which many of us fear, who to cover that position? if we signed Cole but had kept Benny, then Benny can cover.. but nonetheless, great news on the signing of COLE!!! YAY!!! PROUD TO BE REDS! |

The depth problem is always going to be an issue if we lack cash to splash. When the season starts, it becomes a lottery to see which position will get affected by injury and who will have to play out of position for the team. sigh. Roy as you can see is a master at playing the press - he is certainly better at this than Rafa who never got along with them. We have just signed Danny Wilson who looks a good prospect. Is he a central defender? |
