Still, that cross led to the winner. Let's give him due credit and encourage him to build on that right? |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I can't help but ponder on the irony of it all. One of the main reasons why Rafa agreed to leave us is due to a lack of transfer budget. Inter is the Italian and European Champion (which means they have a lot of prize money last season). They have also sold Balotelli to Man City for a huge fee. Yet Rafa had only signed free transfers and is now being told he needs to sell first to buy. Seems like this negative transfer fee issue always happen to him; be it at Valencia, Liverpool or Inter.
Now that H & G are out, NESV is looking forward to strengthening the team. So there is definitely a positive transfer budget at Anfield. Given that RH is struggling, I do wonder if we should just get Rafa back. Because no matter how lousy he is as a man manager, Liverpool had never been in the relegation zone during his time, or any of the other managers's time that we can recall. Life is so ironical. He left a poor team for a rich time. Rich team tells him they got no money for him to spend. Poor team got sold and now poor team is looking to spend. Rafa Benitez will have to sell to buy in January Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has revealed that there will be no transfer funds available to manager Rafael Benitez for him to strengthen the European champions' squad in January. Rafael Benitez: Still to spend a penny Benitez has been told he will have to sell first if he wants to bring in any new faces to a team which finds itself third in Serie A behind their city rivals AC Milan and leaders Lazio. Their only summer signings were goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi and defender Davide Faraoni on free transfers, meaning Benitez has not yet had any cash to spend. "I don't know if we will do something,'' said Moratti. ''We are looking around. "But to buy we must sell. We will see if we are able to do both of these things." Moratti also said his comments about signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona were meant in jest, but left his comment hanging in the air. "Everything will be a joke, maybe," said Moratti. "Anyway, we have time. Messi said never say never and he speaks the truth." Meanwhile, Sulley Muntari insists he will not discuss a possible move away from the club until January. He told Sky Sports: "I am working hard to get back in the good books of the manager. Transfer time is in the market, so I am not talking about moving. We will talk around January." Finally, an away win, back to back win, not to mention a clean sheet as well..
Average, effective and even ugly at times but what a boost for confidence.. Next up, Chelski at home.. Should we win again, then our season is really back and running!

Nice win at Bolton - one of our bogey teams in the past.
We blunted them and coped well with their aeria attacks (although Davis narrowly missed a close range header). I can't say how pleased I am Maxi scored the winner and played well generally throughout. He has improved in the last 2 games. Also, Lucas sent the ball to Torres in the box who backheeled it into Maxi's path. Nice to see these three all have a touch in the winning move |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
3 massive points earned on a very difficult ground! if u asked for my opinion, i think a draw would have been a fairer result, considering Bolton played quite well & had their chances.
positives - maxi had a good game. other than the goal, he made some good passes and tried a bicycle kick which so nearly resulted in a goal. - defence was quite solid tonite. davis n elmander were effectively shut away. - ngog added some life after he came on. maybe RH should consider playing 2 upfront. negatives - joe cole limped off with a suspected hamstring injury. - torres' game was below par, SG was average - the players played with more heart but still lacked understanding & telepathy. many misplaced passes. final ball still not good, lacked killer touch. 'Alonso factor' still sorely missing! it was touching to see how the players celebrated in jubilation at the end of the game, like they've won a Cup final! hopefully, the 3 pts n a lift to mid table will inject some confidence into the team ahead of next week's clash with Chelsea!

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
it was at times painful to see... but it was a scrappy game...
had bolton been more deadly, then we would have been gone.. it was a good finish, but the earlier overhead Kick if went in would been a contender for goal of the season.. i hope we can get back johnson+ kyut for the chelski match.. if not JC is gonna be overrun by cashley.. PS im not convinced we have turned the corner yet... until RH can grind out some results in a row...

a hard fought victory... eveybody deserved a pad on the back...
glad to see maxi playing well and scored a nice goal. i'd high expectation of him when we signed him. hope he can keep it up. but interestingly, he started to play better when j cole is subsituted and he was shifted to the left... maybe our attacks focus are thru cole on the left... torres would have rounded the gk and scored when he's at his best. but nevertheless, a nice backheel which set up the goal. sometimes we need such little touch to change the game. gerrard is well below his best, at least for his shooting. i think one of his freekick, the ball mght have landed in the carpark. soto is really a threat in the air during set pieces.. something we've been missing since sami left us... a sign of the players getting back their fragile confidence... noticed something towards the end when maxi scored... uncle roy was seen "slumped" in his seat with a "given up hope and settling for a draw" look. he and his "routine subsitution of ngog for cole at 60 min" tactic has not convinced me yet, but he has bought himself some time... chelsea next... at least tis time round, they're without our bogey player (none other than our joe cole, who had a bad habit of scoring agst us)...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I personally liked the end when most of the players had smile on their faces and went over to the supporters and applauded them for the never ending support.
Thou I doubt we can get a result with chelski, I'm warmed with the feeling that the players are putting their all and confidence is coming back. |

think RH's gonna play anthr tactical defensive game, with Torres playing lone striker once again. Maxi could be sacrificed for the more defensive Poulsen to combat the Chelsea midfield, together with Lucas. Mascherano may be a hated figure but i feel we lack someone of his presence agt Chelsea ... those paikia tackles, daredevil lunges which our current midfielders r too soft. i wonder who will be tasked to mark the bulldog Drogba. my guess is Skrtel. think Carragher slowed down quite a bit n may not keep up with Dog's speed. i do hope RH be a bit more adventurous n play Ngog with Torres. Otherwise our play would be too predictable for Ancelotti isnt it?
