Dont take me too seriously - im a bit of a hard ass (my point is football is not straightforward and the players often dont play to optimum - not just ours but all over the world).

Continue this debate again after the 2nd leg

Aquilani could still have Liverpool future

Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani could yet have a future at Liverpool after reports this weekend suggested Juventus are only willing to pay £5m to make his loan move permanent this summer.

Aquilani, 26, arrived at Anfield from Roma for £17m in summer 2009, but was loaned out by Roy Hodgson last summer with Juve having the option to make the deal permanent for a reported £10m at the end of the season.

But despite being a regular fixture for the Serie A side, making 23 appearances and scoring twice thus far, reports suggest they aren’t willing to pay that price any more so Liverpool could keep the player rather than make a massive loss.

Of course, many supporters weren’t happy with Aquilani being loaned out in the first place, especially when Christian Poulsen was brought in as his replacement – and he would be more suited to Kenny Dalglish‘s style of football.

Actually Aquaman seems decent in term of performance, just don't understand why he was loan out in the first place, last i heard was becos Liverpool will have to pay certain amount if he reached a number of games, as we are short of cash, he was loaned out. Anyone can verify?

He was out long time because of ankle injury and wasn't match fit to play in the BPL so he was loaned out to improve his match fitness.

The original loan term was only 3 months as Liverpool wanted him back....... but when RH signed Poulsen...... Aquaman was allowed to extend his loan term to full season.

Still seems a very poor decision (by Woy of course). Luckily Raul has been in good form, but it would be good to have AA bedding in with the squad under Kenny and playing a new kind of football, to prepare for next season.

Unlikely to happen now and AA will probably be sold to Juve. Hope we get at least 10m for him.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Liverpool are still without captain Steven Gerrard and new signing Andy Carroll, while Luis Suarez is ineligible for the coming Europa 2nd Leg against Sparta Prague.

Alberto Aquilani - another big money flop.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

We scrapped through to the last 16 with a late header by Kuyt. Ugly performance with little good play until the last 15 mins.

I hope Kenny will play Kuyt as the striker until Carroll comes into the side. Ngog worked hard but he fluffed all his 3 chances in the game and never looked like he would score. All our recent good games had come with Kuyt as striker so I'm puzzled why Kenny has put Ngog up front now.

Cole also missed a break away chance in the final mins so it tells you what kind of season he has been having.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

a hard fought, ugly win....
ngog & poulsen failed to take the chance to impress, guess their time is running out very soon...
cole din impressed, neither did spearing...
really impressed by kelly again, he look real calm & solid in defending and surprisingly quite pacy when attacking...
no fanciful footwork, just simple push & run past defender the whip in the crosses... and he did delivered quite a few dangerous crosses which r missed by cole & meireles...
by comparison, wilson looked a bit shaky and uncertain at times...
surprise tat KD din give pacheco any playing time since he took over, he can't be worse than ngog, based on last nite performace...

it seems pacheco is not rated by rafa, woy and now kenny. perhaps he really not ready yet. to be fair, pacheco and ngog are not the same type of strikers. until andy is fit, we will still need kuyt or ngog to play up front. not sure suarez can play centreforward.

also, since we are only involved in this competition which we can win realistically and the BPL, we should play our best team in every game now instead of rotating players to keep our momentum going 2 challenge 4 a champions league spot, remember this is the biz end of the season liao, KD should not use the europa league for experimentation anymore....................YNWA
i think we all know wat u mean & understand tat we need to be more 'enthu' in our attack at times but King Kenny's tactic is basically wat every manager will use in european away matches: not to concede goals needlessly if not they'll be even more hard to crack in the 2nd leg.
furthermore chionging all the way will risk loads of injuries, suspensions & fatigue, hence the rotation + he'll wanna see which player is more suitable to his gameplan & maintain the competitiveness within the squad.

I always believe that if u dont shoot, u dont score or if u dont buy the ticket, u will never win the lottery.

of course KD knows the situation the best, i am juz expressing my opinion as a concern fan..........we should have a stable team (no more rotating unless key player is injured) now the trf window is over and games are running out fast 4 us to secure that champions league spot which is so crucial 4 us next season to attract good players and to persuade existing players like reina to stay...............YNWA
Ngog will only play better with a strike partner, he cant play as a lone striker. our legend, Mark Lawrenson, has oso said he wondered if Ngog will ever make it big for us, even with a strike partner..
so far the only gd thing abt Ngog is his positioning sense (which is actually better than torres) BUT his finishing is .... (-_-")

Pacheco is too small sized for EPL.. although there are other small sized forwards who were successful in EPL too like God, Zola & Tevez but maybe during training, he showed tat his balance is not yet up to EPL standards??
he is still a talent appreciated by all our managers, tats y Rafa din sell him, Woy tried his best to keep him + give him no.12 & Dalglish oso din sell him yet so there's still a chance to see him play for us

u say pacheco is 2 small size for the BPL, how about jay spearing aka the hobbit??????

whenever he come on as substitute, i was always like............

2 me he is so small that u dont even know whether he is on the pitch, yet KD play him whenever he is fit, still do not understand this part of KD thinking........

hope gerrard will be fit 4 this weekend game against the hammers, we really need him 2 stabilise our midfield as really miss him in our 2 europa games...............YNWA

Somehow jay spearing just dun hv the quality to command in midfield ( my own opinion ) we need someone to be more aggressive n Raul does fit the bill but he already closed to 30 so the priority is too groom young blood to be ready take over when Captain Stevie retire ( I been keep saying that cos it's seems no one can fill the cap n that's worry me )
Really like to see young blood from the youth team that caught our eyes
