The purpose of this early match is more for fitness buildup. Wait for the later pre-season matches when tactics and strategies come into play then pass judgement on the team...... dun condemn them so early YNWA |

We gotta tighten our shoelaces if we are to challenge for the top 3 when the season starts in a month's time or so. Hull is also preparing for next season, every one is preparing for next season so it gives no excuses that we can under perform in these friendlies, i'm sure King Ken know's these, to be a legend like him, you gotta give everything in matches that you are selected, i'm sure some of these players will not be given a chance by him in the next season. Anyway, im quite confident that the players we have might just be enough to be in the top 5...still a couple of class signings to really go for the title as the way i see our benches compared to other teams, its quite minimal class - season is too long to use the same players over & over again

Aquilani closes on Fiorentina move July 26, 2011 Despite recent reports tat Alberto Aquilani would be staying @ Liverpool tis season, the Italian midfielder's agent has claimed tat a deal is in place 2 take him 2 Fiorentina & only hinges on personal terms being agreed. Aquilani was brought 2 the club for £17 million fr Roma on a 5-year deal in 2009 but, aft a season on loan with Juventus, has been deemed surplus 2 requirements @ Anfield & is widely expected 2 join La Viola. The Italian club r believed 2 be ready 2 take him on a permanent deal, although he will likely leave on a season-long loan 1st with an option 2 buy next year, & agent Franco Zavaglia says it is now just a case of agreeing terms with the player. ''The agreement betw Fiorentina & Alberto has not yet been reached,'' Zavaglia told La Gazzetta dello Sport. ''If we talk of an agreement, tat was only reached betw the 2 clubs, becos Fiorentina did not come 2 any decision with us [over wages].'' The midfielder has made just 28 appearances 4 the club since his arrival in England & reports hv suggested tat he has accepted an €8 million 'golden handshake' fr Liverpool spread over 3 years 2 compensate him 4 his drop in salary. His squad number has also been taken off the official Liverpool website list of players, hinting a move is imminent. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...-alert?cc=4716 Pacheco keen to leave Liverpool July 26, 2011 Liverpool starlet Daniel Pacheco has said tat he 1s 2 leave the club, with Norwich a possible destination 4 the former loanee. Pacheco, 20, scored 2 goals in 6 appearances having joined Norwich on an emergency loan in March, & is now looking 4 a new club. "I hoped 4 alot more [at Liverpool]," Pacheco said. "Why should I deny it? I was told I was going 2 hv opportunities. Quite simply, if they don't give me more opportunities, I m very clear I 1 2 leave. Abv all, I 1 2 play & if I hv 2 leave 2 do that then there will be no problem. "Logically it's a disappointment 2 see tat you don't hv any playing time, but in such a situation all you can do is work & I hope 2 hv mins in the Under-20 World Cup 2 demonstrate wat I m worth." Canaries boss Paul Lambert is believed 2 be a big fan of the Spain Under-20 international & could fund a move 4 the player ahead of the new Premier League season. However, they could face competition fr La Liga side Malaga, with Pacheco open 2 a return 2 Spain. "Malaga got in contact with Liverpool 2 inform them they wanted 2 buy me, but Liverpool didn't contemplate a transfer, only a loan," Pacheco said. "Nothing more. Some day I would like 2 return home." |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Sotirios Kyrgiakos will captain Liverpool in tonight's pre-season friendly with Galatasaray in Istanbul.
The Greek centre-back skippers a youthful-looking Reds XI, though Andy Carroll and Joe Cole start in attack at the Turk Telekom Arena. The Liverpool team in full: Doni, Insua, Flanagan, Kyrgiakos, Kelly, Robinson, Degen, Shelvey, Poulsen, Cole, Carroll. Subs: Jones, Wisdom, Ayala, Spearing, Coady, Kuyt, Aquilani. wat's the use of flying all the way to turkey for a pre-season game in which maybe only 2-3 players going to be in our 1st team??!! and we starts with 6 defenders + 1 defensive midfielder??!! thot of catching the game, but after seeing the line-up, i'm having 2nd thot....
