But this time 1st time using internet renewal they requested for it. So i thought maybe their is a time frame that those on LTSVP have to do medical examination. Very much like our SAF FFI......should she chance it go down personally & not do one???

This I have no confirm answer but I think it should be the same as student pass? That will be 2 yrs....anyway since ICA ask for medical report then just go for checkup to save further trouble...

The report is valid for 2 years.

It was stated in the approval letter for LTSVP the 1st time u applied in the Medical Section.

Medical report is valid for 2-years. Once time is up (2 years), yu will need
to go for Medical AGAIN.

Seems that ICA procedures never standardise one.....i have been asking around & it seems some pple got their LTSVP without going thru any medical examinations.....renewal time also dun need to. Also some spouses were encourage to find work though they dun need to while others who need to work applied to work but not approve.

i finally got married in Sept last year and applied for my PRC wife's in mid Oct but till now i have yet to hear from them, been calling them every week but they only tell me to wait. one officer told me that recently they received lots of application for PR so the wait is longer than 3 months. I have a decent-paying job and i pay my taxes on time, one possible problem is i did not submit her graduation cert because for some reason, the name printed on her cert is not even in her 户口本。but i thought they would write to me if they need any additional info but till now no news from them. does anybody know what the people at ICA are doing? without PR i cannot apply for new flat and as i lost much of my savings in stock last year i definitely cannot afford a re-sale flat given the amount of cash that i have to pay upfront. should i apply for LTSVP? i have a feeling the LTSVP may take even longer time. am staying with my parents in a 3-room flat not exactly the most condusive and i am worry that our relationship with my parents will be affected.

really frustrating! just extended her social visit pass 2 weeks ago although without much difficulty and now i have to apply for another social visit pass because my wife is going back for two weeks after CNY. the visa issued earlier is for multiple journeys but once you extend it, it becomes a single-trip visa.

I applied PR for my wife in Aug 07 and received approval letter only in late Jan 08 ..... 5 months !!!

Called them and got the same reply as you, think the only thing you can do is wait.

LTSVP is faster. I got mine for my wife within 2 weeks.

Still with a LTSVP, you can only buy resale flat.

Like me, I am stuck too as my wife is on LTSVP (non PR, cannot get new flat at cheaper startup cost) and I do not have that much cash to buy a resale flat.

So I decided to do some prep work after CNY. Off to Surpreme Court to do documents translation and later to ICA for PR Application.

Just wait bro. ICA will reply to you in due time.
