Hotel GM discharged for allowing prostitutes in

THE general manager of Hotel 81 chain was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal on five charges of allowing prostitutes at its premises.
Chu Poh Yong, 42, had been earlier charged with permitting prostitutes to use the hotel rooms at Hotel 81 Cosy and Hotel 81 Mayo at Jiak Chuan Road and Jalan Besar respectively.
The alleged offences occurred between April and June last year.
The court was not told the reason for the prosecution's application on Wednesday.
When contacted, lawyer Luke Lee said his client would be doing everything that he reasonably can to keep vice out of the chain.
