Jollibee is overrated
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Jollibee is overrated & should be thankful to their huge base of loyal Filipinos in SG September 4th, 2013 | Author: Contributions Jollibee opened its first branch in Lucky Plaza Recently, I went to Jollibee at Lucky Plaza. It was my first attempt after hearing so many good news that the fried chicken “ChickenJoy” must be quite delicious. It was a weekday and close to 9pm and my thoughts were, “The queue must be damn short. And it’s been so many months since Jollibee opened, surely the crowds must have gotten quite sick of Jollibee food?” It was a long arduous trip to Level 6. Initially, I thought this must be a very bad location to place your fast food restaurant on Level 6. The rent is lower on Level 6 but to place a restaurant on Level 6 rather than Level 1, it seems quite stupid. When I saw PAP MP Dr Lily Neo’s opened her Women’s clinic at Level 5, my thoughts were maybe Dr Lily could have also ate the ChickenJoy there too. But when I reached there, I was shocked at the long queue that snaked out to the Jollibee door. Initially, I felt very uncomfortable as I was the only Singaporean there in the queue. I think based on their faces and conversation, I was the only odd one out and behaved myself or else, I could be outnumbered by the Filipinos in the queue, aka, Hello Kitty McDonald street fight. After enduring the queue, ChickenJoy came in less than a minute. As I couldn’t find a seat, I took the ChickenJoy meal set away and went down the escalator. My initial joy turned to disappointment. I realised that my mashed potatoes were all liquid and not even semi-solid or formed. It tasted just like KFC except that it was liquid all over. The chicken itself was a huge disappointment. The meat was cold and not crispy. The chicken skin was also cold and had traces of flour that was not fully fried. Botak Jones and Do-Re-Me Chicken and even KFC can easily beat ChickenJoy hands down. Can anyone confirm this? I think they may have done that in a hurry which caused the chicken meat to be done in such a poor quality. Jollibee must thank the loyal supporters of Filipinos who pay $6.60 per set for ChickenJoy. It’s overrated. One of my Filipino friends goes to Jollibee not because she is ChickenJoy crazy but because she wants to speak in Tagalog with her other friends from Philippines as she is lonely. I think if I were to open a Filipino cuisine hawker stall in a neighbourhood coffee shop and charge them $6 per dish, I can make a lot of money too even if my dishes were bad. Many Filipinos will still come to eat my dishes as they want to make friends with others. By GE 2016, I will probably sing a different tune and want more Filipinos to invade Singapore to shore up my business, if I open such a stall.
