A Defence Science and Technology Agency scholar who stole over 200 bras from his neighbour and university hostels was ordered to undergo psychological treatment for a year on Thursday (May 15).

Research engineer Jonathan Peh Song Wee, 26, was found to have 228 bras at his Ang Mo Kio home -- all of which were suspected to have been stolen or illegally obtained, reports The Straits Times.

He had admitted to five charges -- criminal trespass, theft and fraudulent possession, while another eight were taken into consideration during sentencing.

A Community Court heard that Peh, who graduated from Nanyang Technological University in June last year, stole his neighbour's two sports bras worth $110 which were hung on a rack along the common corridor of his block in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 last August.

According to a report by My Paper, he had a particular liking for sports bras.

Peh's neighbour, Rowena Repollo Tampus, told The Straits Times last night that she had lost five Nike sports bras since July last year.

Now, she hangs all underwear inside the house.

The 39-year-old maid, who has worked with her employer's family for 20 years, said: "I couldn't believe it was him, because I have seen him grow up since young and even attended his birthday party a few years ago."
