Woman injured after falling down Lavender MRT escalator

Published on May 5, 2015 9:52 PM

SINGAPORE - A woman was injured after tumbling down an escalator at Lavender MRT station on Tuesday morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were informed of the incident at about 9am on Tuesday.

A witness, who did not wish to be named, said that the woman was running down the escalator, possibly to catch a train that was leaving. She was midway down the escalator when she lost her balance and fell, the witness told Lianhe Wanbao.

She landed on her back, with her high-heeled feet resting on the last two escalator steps. SMRT staff came to offer assistance, and stopped the escalator.

She could not move and complained of severe back pain. The woman, who is in her 30s, was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, SCDF said. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin...r-#xtor=CS1-10
