the problem is weight loss cannot be seen in a day, a week or even a month. that's why people lose motivation.

if the intent is to get healthier (vs losing weight), then it will be easier to sustain.

a caloric deficit of 500 kcal per day will result in 500g weight loss in a week. (1 kg of fat equals 7000 kcals).

if you just diet without exercise, the body will think it is in starvation mode and store excess calories as fat, which is counter productive.

instead, you should eat normally to make the base metabolic requirement (1500 for females and 2000 for males) so that the body does not think it is starving. then exercise to create the caloric deficit.

cutting sugar and carbs also helps because they are the easiest to convert to glucose and the body will naturally convert them first as it requires the least energy.

This world is like that now.... everything is fake in the media. That churns out media personalities who need to do all these to catch up with the trend. Which is why mental health is a big topic now. It's a real, first-world problem.

I know it sounds superficial but looks do matter in reality, especially for women to be attractive to a guy. Not married yet but i do maintain some expections for the women im attached to. If they do not maintain themselves then its only natural to lose physical attraction to them and eventually the relationship. I also hold my end of the bargain by exercising and staying fit. Being in shape is also a sign of good health.

Never really lose libido as I mentioned we still have sex, but I still enjoy my time watching porn… but yea frequency is less now before the kid came.

Actually, sugar and carbs (which is effectively complex sugars that get broken down into sugar by our body) raises our blood glucose so high that that environment becomes toxic to the body, so the body preferentially clears that out of our system first, not because it requires the least energy.

The act of exercising itself is actually pretty inefficient as a energy sink tbh. But.. exercising and building muscle increases the body's base metabolic rate, which has the highest energy usage rate without even needing to do anything.

If someone wants to lose weight, go fully cold turkey on carbs and sugars, eat lots of meat, exercise with the goal of building muscle, and watch the pounds drop off.
