German wife/ asian lovers: legal consequences of mixed bastard babies

My German girlfriend had in 2007 during a Thailand holiday her first sex with an asian male (see my thread: my girlfriend had paid sex with a thai boy) and since then keeps on occassionally dating asian males. Nonetheless we got married earlier this year. This will have decisive legal consequences if one of her affairs will ever go wrong and result in a illegitimate mixed Thai-German baby. I found out that if my wife will give birth to a baby of a Thai father, according the German family laws I will be regarded as the legitimate father before the law, regardless if it is obvious that the mixed bastard baby cannot be from her caucasian husband. If a baby is born within an existing marriage it will always become a legitimate baby and consequently the husband is responsible for the upbringing, education, etc. of the new born. German family laws want to protect by this way the mother and the baby.



I wonder if this does not go to far. Lets assume if a wife will willingly have a baby from another man she does at least not need to fear economical consequences as she can hold her husband financially responsible.



I wonder further how the regulations are under other jurisdiction (England, America, Thailand, Singapore,etc.).
