Reminds me: something odd about this forum -- there's no threads. Here we are posting in Vietnam, which on most forums would be a general section, and then individual threads on different specific topics would be posted within it. Here everything about Vietnam gets put into this one giant thread. It ends up being chat-style back and forth, not really relevant to most people coming to read. I just mention it because it makes finding useable info a really time-consuming task. I have to say, for me, it's a big drawback of this site. Vietnam should have its own section, and we should be able to start individual specific threads within it. It'd make finding info a lot easier.

We'd also be able to have something like a 'stickie' that could contain the kind of info pepole come here to ask again and again and again (which is obviously annoying to some here) like where are the GF hotels, which clubs are good, hair salons, etc etc.

Korean, two locals jailed for prostitution racket

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court Monday sentenced Kim Seok Joo of South Korea and two HCMC residents to a total of nine years in prison for engaging in the business of prostitution.

The verdict says 55-year-old Joo, who will serve two years in jail, was employed to manage the ViVace Karaoke discotheque at the Super Bowl Center in Tan Binh District. The karaoke parlor was illegally supplying customers with prostitutes.

Thirty-year-old Huynh Thi Nguyet in Go Vap District and 30- year-old Nguyen Thi Bao Tran from Binh Thanh District, who will be jailed for four and three years respectively, were in charge of procuring and managing waitresses at the karaoke club, according to the verdict.

The defendants had the waitresses work as prostitutes to attract customers. Every night, about 10 waitresses provided the service to customers, mostly Korean, the verdict said.

Their activity was uncovered when concerned agencies busted the parlor on November 25, 2007.
