I got the odd stares now and then but nothing too hostile. Maybe your case was a special one.

Good for you...any flight as long as you are happy to pay and timing is correct...sq has 3 flights daily...tiger has 2 flights daily, jetstar daily once, lion air daily once, garuda co share with vn airlines fly daily once...only takes 2 hours to reach hcm and flight time is only 1 hr 40 mins...in my list that i going to send you has a list of gal frenly hotel which guarantee your gal can sleep with you anytime you wan and no problem at all...you can even book by email...

Both currencies can be used. readily accepted. Tyr not to pay in USD as the exchange rate will never favour you. Change to VN dong
As for food, all airlines serve light meals / food. inclusive in the price of the ticket. Budget airlines serve also but must pay extra.

since you say that her home is 3 hours from HCMC, you can tell her your plan and ask her to travel to HCMC. She will stay over with yo since it take 3 hours to travel home.
ask her to bring along her ID so that she can stay in the hotel with you.
