Please pardon me as I'm too tired to read the whole thread. I will be heading to HCM on early March 06, the htl you mentioned fix my budget. Do you have the full address,phone & e mail address of it? Just like other gal friendly HTL, Do I need to pay extra$ to bring my gal in to stay? . If I ask my gal to book a rm on behalf for me under her name while I stay with her during the stay,is it advisable? Many thanks in advance. Cheers.

I guess u dun understand what idoes ger friendly hotel means. Since it is a ger friendly y u still have to pay extra??? Book a 2 persons room, n enjoy your stay with her.

Yes u may. Nothing wrong with it. For ger unfriendly, your ger must always be the same ger since the day she check in with u. Some hotel check the ID of the viet ger b4 letting them in, but since it is a ger friendly hotel then dun bother to use whose name.

The Lan Lan 2 Hotel is nice but it's US$21 or a little more per day.

I noticed that you were looking at a Bui Vien Hotel that is priced at US$12/- per night so I am not sure you want to up your budget. If so, the better locality and room is worth it at the Lan Lan 2.

Otherwise, your choices are at Bui Vien or Pham Ngu Lau areas which are adjoining streets in the "backpackers'" area of HCM City. It's colourful and some people like it and some don't. I myself do because there's lots of cheap things near at hand.

If your budget is very tight, I would recommend the hotel Sha Gua introduced to me.

Its very clean and it's sort of in a back-alley just off the Pham Ngu Lau main road near Le Duyen "Hoc Toc" (Salon). The only thing is that it's in that back alley. Otherwise their US$15/- rooms are very clean and nice and the owner is a very nice lady.

The name is Ngoc Minh Hotel at 283/11 Pham Ngu Lao Street
Distric.1, Ho Chi Minh City, Tel: +84 (8) 836 5215

Bui Vien Street has many budget Hotels too but they are less quiet and full of backpackers of all sorts. Like I said, some like it busy!

Outside the Pham Ngu Lau area along, Ly Tu Trong Street and also in the vicinity of the New World Hotel, there are several budget hotels which are girl friendly.

However, they are priced from US$15 upwards just like the Lan Lan2. I liked the LL2 because it was almost new.

Whatever, have fun with your girl. That's one of the reasons we end up going there!

A little bird told me that many mini-hotels (regardless of gal friendly or not) were raided last week. Area include Hai Ba Trung and Pham Ngu Lau.
Think it was the usual clean-up before holiday period.
Should be over by now.....let the party goes on!!!

i was staying in Empress Hotel for 5 days when i was in HCM last mth. Rms r clean but the manager insisted me to book another rm for my girl. ended spending more $!

Empress Hotel has the policy of asking clients to spend an extra US$12 a night if they want to bring the gal into the room. This being part of the security measures, in case of police check / raid. The US$12 is spent to register another room under the gal's name. In any event if there's a raid, the reception will call the gal in your room and she will use the stairs to run to her own room to hide.

But if bros do not want to pay extra, then try Lan Lan Hotel

Tat is wat i thought also but the manager die die want me to book another rm but small issue as the trip was really fun. looking forward to go back again soon and maybe try 1 of ur angles.
