I went Marco Polo many times, last time was 15 Sept 2009. It is a local joint, Karaoke pub with PRs. Not really suitable for foreigners.. I always go with Vietnamese...

FTV lounge is a theme restaurant sort of like planet hollywood.

Level 23 Bar & Disco @ Sheraton Hotel is a disco, there are some FL hanging out there but at 9 pm the security stand guard and you cannot bring gals up to the hotel room.

I juz booked Lanlan2 hotel for my next month trip to HCM with a fellow cheongster friend. Any good / bad feedback about this place?

I went once in year 2007 to look for a gal...trying to recall...I think got 2 levels...

Yes, it was 2 storey but now the previous premise become a restaurant with nice seafood.

It has since move across the street and only left with 1 level. Business as usual.. Seen couple of famous people there but I have to stress that it is a LOCAL joint.

Was at Gossip after it re-opened. The Island bar and raised platform at the back of the disco has been removed. The dance floor has been shrunk and new interior deco for the place as well as. More PRs.

Was at SAHDOW Club located in PArkson. It has changed management again. The place was jam packed on a weeknight. also has PRs but was not paying attention to them.

That Polo is gone. Demolished. There's a big seafood restaurant in its place now. Just drove past a few nights back and was really surprised to see that big and very fast change. It was on Ly Chinh Thang at the corner of the same little street where Happy Day karaoke is (see Hurricane's list for the name of street).

I think some version of it reopened across the narrow street, but haven't been inside and also don't know the new name. To be investigated.

I just drove past FashionTV -- the signs outside actually have the F logo that you see on their cable tv station and the words Fashion TV under that. IT doesn't specify if its a club, cafe, bar, etc. ONly that.

But the more important thing is that it's closed and being torn up. I couldnt' tell if it was in the process of renovation or if it had been closed permanently.

A sign outside said:

Nha hang tam dong cua de -- sua chua ... fashiontv

Translation anyone?

Thought you read Vietnamese, Wendella.

They should just go ahead and close for good. fTV are pioneers of a good concept - bring in the models, house the fashion shows, open to the public and broadcast on the channel on a regular basis. Somehow this just wasn't followed through in Saigon. I doubt just a makeover would change things.
