Circumcision: my experience

Hi bros and Dr Tan, I just did my circumcision due to phimosis a few hours ago. Doctor told me that i can remove the dressing in 24hrs. I’ve seen one some forums and here that some people replace the dressing, while some dont. I also saw that one way to clean the wound is to dip the penis into a container of salt water. Would yall recommend this?

There are many methods of circumcision. Even those that are stitched closed there are many different types of sutures used and suturing methods.

Consequently, the post surgical wound care is also different.

Generally speaking, for any surgical wound that is stitched closed, you want to keep the dressing on for at least 48 hours

After that whether you dress it or not is controversial and your surgeon should advise on that

Using Epsom salts wash also is better for certain surgical closure methods than others.

Unfortunately not 😅 I’ve been having bleeding from the underside of the wound 2x last week (3rd week). 80% of the stitches also havent dissolved yet… just went for my follow up appt w the doc and she said cannot “discharge” me yet, need to monitor and go for another follow up in January. This no nut november really killing me 😭😭😭

Can. I have patients who heal after 2 weeks. However I still advise them to be gentle. Cos after 2 weeks the overlying skin may have healed by the underlying structures still are healing. So the skin may still break if you are too rough.

circumcision got any advised age range ? like i am above 30 already is it too late ? or babies get circumcision is it too early?

Going to a private clinic will be faster. But how long does it take if you go to the public hospital? Is the cost cheaper and will they accept if i just want to do it for hygiene and not due to any special conditions on it

There is no age range. We circumcise whoever needs it.

Jewish religious circumcisions are done when the baby is 1 day old.

Personally I have operated on patients in their 60's

Depends, some can take 1 week and some take almost a month. I think age plays a factor.

My 2 year old took 1 week to heal from it, while my cousin whose in their 30s took 3 weeks.

That's why most of muslims do it young. Any converted bros can share their experience?

I had phimosis and infection when I was younger, had circumcision at age of 12. Comfortable and clean but over time penis tip keeps getting less and less sensitive.

I have to do raw or thrust hard/high speed to ejaculate, otherwise I can pump more than one hour an it gets tiring and boring at some point.

Might not be the case for everyone, but just keep in mind. I'm now in mid-30s, hope it doesn't get any less sensitive than this.

i have come across , getting less sensitive as a problem.

i worry about this "side effect" of becoming less sensitive
