Yup. Can count in Japs too. When I was rushing to Macau airport on the return trip in that van, my 'companions' are one fat Taiwanese and 4 Japs. Middle-age guys. So, GB is indeed a nice playground.

Same like the CNY for this year? Lawrence and Benson going too? Same group of people?

Me will be going to ZH on the first few days of Dec, and that trip will decide how i'll arrange my plans for CNY... So will not confirm anything with you all...

Some good news for newbies who are deciding whether to go GB. RMB rate weakening against SGD. The $ exchange near my home is 4.98. Should be able to get 5.00 at Chinatown PPC. I'll check it out tmr.

It's been a week since I return, still thinking of GB. Here's the rest of the pics.

Guangdong Regency Hotel - just next to Jin Yu. Damn posh lobby. Bro break said it is very pricey. I bet a lot of loaded Taiwanese and Japs stay here.

Bro break mentioned a laundry shop where you can take your clothes to if you don't want the hotel to wash for you. Should be cheaper. Not sure if this is the shop. This is just across the road.



There are also a few confectionery near the area. I must say you must try them. Somehow, their taste is much better than those you find in SG. I especially like the sugary strudel with peanut paste filling. Solid. RMB2 for one. I ate one in the morning and I can tahan all the way to 1pm.

GongBei shi chang - Market square. Just further up the road. Quite a busy place. As I was leaving, I took this picture becoz I find the red color balloon unique. Suddenly, one guy approached me and asked me in Cantonese what was I taking. Got a little panic and point to the red balloon. He walked off with no issues. Phew!!

Big 2nd Hand HP shop in GB Shi Chang. In case newbies are wondering, HP shops are aplenty in GB. Me thinking of getting a China line for my next trip.

If you'd notice the wordings on the red balloon in my previous pic, it said 'A+ franchise' is opening for business on 28 Sept. This is the scene at 'A+ franchise shop'. Think it is like Econ minimart. Got a lot of ppl queuing up. Lion dance troupe performing. I thought it is CNY liao!! Either freebies or very nice promo. Who said SG ppl are the ones who like queuing.........

Actually, I posted out the pics mainly for newbies. GB might not be exactly what they thought it might be. I never expected GB to be as such. Eye opener for me. I hope newbies will remember these pics when they visit GB for the first time. No more pics liao as I didn't really venture far enough since it is my first trip and I was alone when I took these pics. Must have a sense of safety mah. On my next trip, I will definitely take pictures from GB customs (outside that is) all the way to LHL. Maybe all the way to Jin Yu if I can stay in that hotel again. Maybe other Bros can undertake this mission on their upcoming trips in Oct / Nov / Dec. I'm sure it will greatly benefit all the newbies.

The "fat" one... i found out another counter got even more mei mei... they are rather cute... but me no time... next trip will hang out at their counter... you can follow me if you scared to see ur first mei mei.. Ah lian oso quite fun... bro TCSG can vouch...
