Singapore not really that fun? You never went to USA or Europe! We are so pitiful here! Anyway, I cannot imagine how one could get bored in Singapore, considering the variety of races, prices, skills, attitudes that one can find in Orchard Tower, Lucky Plaza, Geylang, plus FLs in Clark Quai and various discoes and pubs around the river, plus the low-end houses in Little India, plus the KTVs, etc. etc. etc. JB? Its only life is the Singaporeans going there aiming at something cheaper and "exotic", just to change. It's the most expensive place in Malaysia for sure. You listed so many Pussy Paradise places! If you have the chance to spend some days in Philippines or Thailand, I do not see the point to go wasting time and money in JB. However, everyone has its own view. |

Prma Ferries vs. Batam Fast into Harbour Bay
***************
need some bro help, as batam got so many ferry terminal... Batam Center, habour bay, sekupang & waterfront city.... which one is better in term of cheongster? *************** While Harbour Front to Harbour Bay is the definite Cheongster Jalan, I did learn a little pointer on my first trip (I did it alone) to assist with your trip. After reading the Posts, I saw Prima Ferries was "supposedly" the only service between the two. I typed in Batam Ferry and got a great link to a site for Batam Fast which I took to be a sales point for Prima Ferries. The site offered $48 R/T and allowed you to have a flexible return time which was perfect for me. I booked the 7:15pm time that best suited me to head over and everything went smooth over there (R40k to 50k for taxi to the heart of the city). The Ferry was pleasant with a movie playing (by the way, you never get to watch the entire movie since the trip is less than an hour). When it was time to go back to Singapore, The ride was R40k arranged by the doorman. I got out and got on the Prima Ferry line at their very large and nice terminal with 5 doing tickets. The line went fast but when I got up there, the cutie looked at my print out and said, oh you are on Batam Fast and pointed over my shoulder. There was a new small stall with Batam Fast sign and one girl working there. Prima Ferries had 2 ferries depart while I waited for the 2:15 pm (one of only 4 per day). Prima Ferries 3rd ferry to Harbour Front left while I was loading on my Batam Fast next door. Must admit, our ferry was much less crowded so if you are traveling on a fixed schedule Batam Fast seems the way to go. If you want the freedom to Cheong without time limit (at leaft relating to transport), the Prima Ferries is definitely the better choice for now. Batam Fast apparently is the biggest linkage between Singapore and Indonesia destinations so they may start expanding their Batam services. They also service Bintan and I am planning on going there from Batam for a day trip on my next romp. My hope is to find one of the legendary Bintan farms are still in operation. While a lot of posts say they are not, a few of the ex-pat residents of Batam said they are still there if you know how to find them but the girls are just poor farm girls and seldom service like a pro. Still, I am always willing to teach. Any of our esteemed senior cheongsters able to confrim or deny if Bintan still offers their former sweet spots if you know how to fing them? PS: The Busy Ba Bar in the NED is the best place to go for trained talent. Their bac door opens to the side door of the Harmoni Suites so I know where I am staying next time! |

exchange rates
I'd also hold the Rupiah for a while. At a minimum, it will help you decide to go and dip the wick which is a decision I hope to make again SOON!! The 8010 exchange is indicative of the range I saw in Batam using fresh US$100 bills. In other countries, that makes a big difference but none that I could see in Batam (no torn bills accepted). While most of them always started at 9k to the USD, I got one place (the middle one across from the Formosa Hotel entrance to go 9650 one evening around 7pm, they close by 8 pm usually).

Re: Batam Info Thread
Primaferries and batamfast both have ferries going to harbourbay... the difference is just prima have hourly trips while batamfast only have a couple per day. It is convenient for cheongsters to take prima due to lots of time schedules to go batam. For example u need to go back SG urgent... no need to worry cuz ferries are available hourly. Just my opinion though... hehehe...
