This was the worst thing that can happen, I do not know if any reader has encountered this before. You try to hook someone up with a girl, and the girl ends up liking you. Maybe some will find that I am making up and excuse but later I felt Glenn made this happen as he would say nice things about me which I believe was genuinely felt by him to Gloria, which sort of made Gloria admire me more.

I did not answer Gloria, I was more concerned about Glenn. I raced up to the classroom and most of the classmate were back as it was near to the end of recess. I walked towards Glenn calling out to him, he ignored me.

Me: Eh Glenn... You ok or not... ( I was ignored)

Me: Eh....

Glenn stood up and pushed me: You said you were helping me, help until like this.

Me: Eh Glenn, I never do anything.

Glenn pushed me again: Then tell me why Gloria reject me, saying she like you.

Glenn threw a punch at me and that was it, we had a brawl in the classroom. I never fought him but just blocked his punches, I knew he was upset but soon someone punched him in the face and pushed him away. It was my brother, it was Ah Kai.

Ah Kai: siao(crazy) ah you all, fight in class.

There was already a crowd gathered outside the class watching us, and little did I know Gloria was amongst them.

Glenn: Kai, This is none of your business.

I pulled Kai and asked him to stay out off it, ( I was worried Kai would bash the hell out of Glenn) I usher Kai out of the classroom to avoid more conflicts.

Glenn: Why? Guilty ah? Run away like that!

That was the last straw, I turned around and stared at Glenn: Gia! Aw Buay gong! ( come, we talk behind)

I think that time, I did something wrg, I should have let thing cool down first before going to talk to him, but I was concerned and ended up provoking him

yeah letting him cool down might have prevented the brawl, but sooner or latr still need to face him. its quite tough to be in ur position... on the other hand, can bonk new girl... lolz

A firm hand gripped onto my arm, squeezing it.

It was my discipline master, he dispersed the crowd asking them to return to their classes. Then asked Glenn, Ah Kai and me to to follow him, we reached his office and where he handed us a piece of paper each to wirte on giving our account on what had happened. ( Sometimes I wonder what they want us to write? Want me to write say I help ppl sian girl then got into a fight because the girl like me meh)

I wirte that there was a misunderstanding that lead to some pushing, which eventually become a fight. I knew I was not getting out of this and I really did not wish to implicate Ah Kai. I state clearly that Ah Kai was the one that stopped the fight hopping the discipline master would believe it.

We all handed in our papers and My discipline master, Mr Foo questioned Ah Kai.

Mr Foo: Kai, why your paper is blank?

Kai: Mr Foo, I write I never fight you believe meh? Then write no write got difference meh?

Mr Foo shook his head and read both Glenn and my accounts, he soon looked up and he gave a sigh.

Mr Foo: Glenn you say both Yang and Kai hit you. (Ah Kai was starring at Glenn he was pissed)

Glenn nodded: yes...

Mr Foo: Yang, you say only Glenn and you are in the fight and Ah Kai stop you.

Me: Ah Kai Stopped us, you can ask the others in the class.

Mr Foo asked Ah Kai to go, and looked at the two of us.

Mr Foo: No matter what the reason was, the two of you fought in school. I have to follow the school rules, report to me tomorrow morning here, the two of you will get public caning.

Tears flow down Glenn's eyes, and I was too upset. For my life in school, I have never once been caned and this was my first. We were asked to returned to our classroom, and the moment I went in I called ah Kai and we went for our smoking break.

Kai: Yang, what the old man say?

Me: tomorrow public caning lor.

Kai: Wah Lao, but what happen huh, why Glenn and you fight because of Gloria?

Me: CB. You also know.

Kai: Knn now the whole sch talking, everyone also know.

I told Kai what happen and he laughed: Knn kaypo lah, now kena public caning.

I showed him the finger: thank you leh brother.

Kai went on to tell me that I must be saat during public caning, must not shout out and must still behave Lao lan (arrogant) after being caned. I actually listened to that, and we went back to class after our cigarette, on the way Ah Kai was telling me how unhappy he was with Glenn. After entering the class Kai knocked on Glenn's table: After school, we talk.
